New From Canada

Hello from Canada, I am a 50 yr old that always struggled with keeping my weight down. I have been on numerous diets and excersize programs with some but limited success.
For the last 5 years I have in most part ate quite healthily and have logged all my intake in a daily journal.
I bike to work (6km) all summer and golf at least once a week. My weight over the last 5 years has fluctuated from 255lbs to 228lbs. I am 6' 2" and large frame. My leg muscles are massive from all my biking, walking etc. In the winter I was using an elliptical crosstrainer for 30 min 4-5 times a week.
3 1/2 weeks ago I joined a gym and had a free 2 hour consultation with the trainer. He set me up with a full body workout which takes approx. 2 hrs showered and out.I do this every 2nd day and the other days I go in and do 22 min on the elliptical with 6 of those minutes at 80% full heart rate then I do Ab excersizes for 15 min..
Calorie intake has been about 2000/day and I have lost 9 lbs in this time.
I am going every day in order to get in the habit of going. I know that this will eventually become 4 times/wk. My goal is to keep my weight steady 225- 230 range, I knoe that all the charts say that I will still not be ideal weight but at 220 or less people keep saying I look sickly.
I found this forum and joined as it looks like a wealth of info here.
Hopefully I can post my progress and maybe even get the nerve to post some pics down the road.

Take care:
Pluto

Are you saying that you do not wish to be a healthy weight because of what other people think? Say it ain't so! They are probably fat themselves! Be healthy.
