i have been thinking of having this for a few months now. (do it on another forum i visit sometimes) the idea is to have as many hours of exercise in as possible. instead of counting calories, we will count minutes and hours of actual exercise that you set out to do for yourself and this challenge. post a goal and then try to reach it during the month of june. here is a sample of how you should post starting TOMMORROW JUNE 1st.
sample
-----------
10 min. weights
50 min. walking
total: 1 hour
total so far: 1:00/30:00 (the 30 is 30 hours which is my goal)
So here are the rules:
this challenge is all about exercise, specifically how much time you spend doing it. We don't talk about food, weight or calories, just exercise.
*You must post regularly
*You cannot accumulate more than 10 hours of exercise between posts. If you get to 10, post it so you can start to add more.
*In order for your time to count, you must keep careful track of hours and minutes (no rounding up) and itemize what you did (ex. 1h yoga, 30m elliptical, 20m. run).
*At the end of each update, include your total for the month.
Keep careful track of hours and minutes you spend exercising, and post as often as possible. If you cannot post everyday, please include a breakdown of your exercise for each day that has elapsed since your last post.
In order to count as exercise, the activity must be done specifically for the purpose of fitness, and must fit into one or more of the following categories:
cardio (activities that elevate your heart rate, such as running, elliptical, step aerobics)
strength/conditioning (activities that involve repetitive movements involving resistance, such as weightlifting and pilates)
flexibility (activities that involve stretching and holding poses, such as yoga)
-ABSOLUTELY NO exercise FOR WHICH YOU RECIEVE MONEY OR SCHOOL CREDIT
(ie: you may not count exercise done for P.E. or for your job)
-ABSOLUTELY NO exercise IN WHICH YOU PARTICIPATE FOR COMPETITIVE SPORTS
(ie: no soccer 'practice', swim-team practice, etc.)
--ABSOLUTELY NO exercise IN WHICH YOU PARTICIPATE AS AN ORGANIZED ACTIVITY(i.e.: ballet, jazz dance, etc.)
-ABSOLUTELY NO exercise IN WHICH YOU ARE DOING A CHORE OR WORK WHICH YOU WOULD ALREADY BE COMMITTED TO DO (ie: if you are moving, you may not count the trips back and forth, carrying boxes, cleaning, raking leaves (unless you do so, specifically to add x. and otherwise would not have done so) etc.)
so what do yall think?
