Hi, its a little weird to be introducing myself to a room full of strangers. Its like AA, or something, except I can't stop eating my boyfriend's excellent chocolate chip cookies!
I'm a 22 year old girl. I've swung between 130 and 145 lbs for the last few years. My weight is a really sensitive subject-- I know that wanting to lose 5-7 lbs is hardly a challange! I can't believe the courage some of you have-- to loose 15 lbs or more-- to me thats like climbing Mt. Everest and then running a marathon the next day! Anyway, right now I'm in the mid-140s and want to hit a lean healthy 135 by October. My best friend is getting married and I'm in the wedding.
Anyway, I heard about this new book Ten Thousand Steps A Day to Your Optimal Weight and figured I'd give the plan a try. So, now I wake up in the morning and go for walks. I haven't done too much with my diet yet. Its such a lame excuse, but my boyfriend (who is like 6'5" and could eat a whole cheesecake and not gain weight) really is part of the reason I eat poorly. Breakfast, lunch, and sncaks-- all healthy-- dinner and dessert at home with him and I eat way to much.
This is a goal for me. He loves me and thinks its crazy I get so worked up/depressed/freaked out about my body. Its something I need to know I can do.
I'm planning to document my many steps here:
However, I'm sure I'll be coming back here for support and to know that I'm not the only person counting crackers into tupperware!
