New beginnings!!

Like so many of the other blogs I have read, I am tired of making excuses and need to start taking my weight loss seriously! I booked a trip to Puerta Vallarta last night, so swimsuit here I come. I am terrified!!!! I am in need of motivation and ideas. I am definitely an emotional eater and need to learn to break that habit. :)

Welcome to the forums! I'd suggest starting a weight loss diary if you haven't already; they're AWESOME tools for helping you check yourself. There's nothing like peer pressure when you're forced to keep a list of everything you eat and all the exercise you do - then you'll see where your weak points are.

How much weight are you trying to lose, and what kind of plan are you thinking about doing?
 
Thanks maverick. I think I will start a weight loss diary. I am sure that it helps for the times where you want to eat stuff you shouldn't. If you eat in consciously knowing that you will have to write it down, I think that this would help to deter you from eating what it is that isn't good???? Just a thought :) I am trying to lose around 35 pounds. I am currently 176 and would like to weight around 140. I know that ideally I should weight even less than 140 since I am only 5'2", but I don't want to set my original goal too high. Make sense?

Im with you on the goal thing....right now my goal is just a little lower than your start weight (170) but I know I dont look 1/2 bad at 170 and is 50 pounds less than Im starting with....I figure when I make that goal I can set a new one.
