New at this... Help

Last Month me and my friend decided to go no sugar.. like (no processed) so for a month i had no soda, candy, cookies, cake, chips, fast food. (which is hard for a 15 year old to do).. and when it was over I had soda, and i didnt want it anymore. Which is good.
So here i am 15 years old 5'11 and 165lbs. Which is just too many lbs.
I do sit ups and push ups every night.. and im going to start running a mile every morning.
My question is just.. What are some general tips/ things i can do.
Nutrition is hard for me, because i have no say over the meals i get. I eat a good breakfast (oatmeal, eggs)

I would just like to lose about 15 pounds.. And feel better about myself... but i need help... General Advice.!
Thanks.

First off, don't run every day. Run every other 3 to 4 times a week.

Having no say on what meals you get isn't that big of a deal really, just be sensible on what you eat. Stay away from fast foods and pizza though if possible.

Do you have access to a gym? You may think about taking up weight training. Building muscle helps you burn fat.

Also you can control your portions, keep them moderate. And watch those condiments, don't add salt or sugar to anything. Maybe skip the dressing if your having salad, if your having potatoes don't add any gravy. Little things like that can really add up. And congratulations on the decisions you've made and the junk you've already cut out of your diet.

If you have to have dressing on your salad (I know I do :D) try a fat free italian dressing. 15-20 calories a serving :D.
