New and [soon to be] Improved!

Hey guys -

My name is Christine. I've been hovering around the forums for quite a while now - looking for tips and reading the advice given to others. I always START to exercise/diet, but I have never been able to stick with it. :( After reading the inspiration you guys give to others, I figured it would help me out greatly if I received some advice and motivation directly. Although I have wanted to lose weight for the past year, I've RECENTLY [as in earlier today] made the decision to change the way I live my life.

I guess one of my downfalls has always been not knowing where to start. I would just "jump" into some sort of half-assed routine without any real structure. Growing up, I was skinny - so skinny that people thought I had eating disorders [ I didn't - I swear!!!]. All my life, I have actually tried HARD to gain weight - but only recently did I start to see some results. I saw more than I aimed to see. I'm 5'7'' and I went from 120 to 151. It SEEMS to have all gone to my tummy :eek:. Now I can't seem to shake the extra weight. I would like to lose about 20 lbs and stay around 130. Wish me luck!
 
Nice to meet you Christine! I remember the skinny days as well. I used to be told that I needed to gain weight by doctors and family! I should have never listened, haha. Anyway, welcome to the forum, and good luck with losing the weight! :)
