New and Need Support :)

Hi everyone, my name is Rebecca. I just turned 30 last week! :( I have ALWAYS had a problem with my weight, and am so sick of it all. 5 years ago I lost 60 lbs, and have gained it back in the last 2 years. I really need support and a place to talk about my goals and frustrations. I am currently 211 lbs and 5'7". I am really the only one in my family with a weight problem, so I find myself getting more stressed and less motivated seeing my skinny family eat whatever they want.

My goal weight is 140, but when I tell my husband I want to lose 70lbs he laughs and says I would wither away (I have NEVER told him how much I weigh).

Other goals:
Feel good in a bathing suit.
Let my husband pick me up.
Wear "normal clothes" (non-plus sized, or X-Large)
Be able to run again.
Look sexy.

Good luck everyone! Thanks for listening.

I hear ya talkin' sister. I would like all those things too...well, except for your husband to pick me up.

I'm a newbie too, so welcome! So far I'm liking this place, I hope you will too. Feel free to PM me if you ever need support or encouragement. Take care!

Happy Belated Birthday!

You've come to the right place for lots of information and inspiration. You may even find some motivation, but to be honest, that really has to come from You! You have to want this so bad .. and to educate yourself to recognise the positive things that work, and the things that trigger bad days. One way to do that is to keep a diary so you can look back and reflect on it when necessary.

Are you following a particular eating and exercise plan?

Welcome to weight loss forum. I agree with everything Yarmiah said.

This is a great source of support and if you come here everyday it may give you the boost you need to hang on long enough to see results. Its tough in the beginning but once you find out what works for you it gets easier.

Hey, weight is a life long struggle in our society. You've got lots of company here.

Have fun and enjoy your better choices.

My sweetie thinks it's ridiculous that I want to lose 30lbs, but thats because he thinks I'm lovely the way I am, and I'm sure your husband can't wrap his head around you being any sexier.

Thats when I tell my sweetie that when I'm more confident in less clothes, he'll see me in less clothes more often. He likes that!

its funny how many people tell you that you are 'fine as you are' and 'dont need to loose anything' and when you actually do they are all overthemselves saying how wonderful you look now :)

Listen to yourself and whats normal for your height, go with it. You can loose the extra few - having it gone is well worth it!

No matter what, I think there is always room for improvement! My problem is quite the opposite on the scale, but you can always work out, tone, and make your body look better no matter what size you are! Always, always, always room for improvement:p

Welcome to WLF!

Welcome to WLF mrsltd!
I am new too. It was also my 30th birthday was last week!
I started trying to lose weight in December, and I found lots and lots of help and advice on this site.

People are really helpful, but sometimes you do get some conflicting advice. So my advice is take everything with a "pinch of salt" until it gets re-enforced by other people too.

Thank you so much everyone for the wonderful welcome!

Yarmiah - I have infertility issues(which is another reason for weight loss altogether) related to PCOS(insulin resistance) so I need to follow a diet like the South Beach. Lower carbs and fats. I also joined Curves for exercise and am getting a new treadmill sometime this week.

Tabbigirl-Thanks so much for the PM offer, and good luck to you too!

Happychubette-That has always been my problem. Not following thru. You are right, and I think that this will be just the motivation I need to stick with it. I can't wait to have "shocking" before and after pics!

CNNSarah-I dont think hubby has seen me naked in 2 years! Lights off is getting OLD!

wishes- Wow, you have done AMAZING! I will be looking into your posts to see how you have done it. You are a great motivation!

nikegirl24-You are so right about the always room for improvement. When I lost the 60lbs I was still overweight, but thought I was skinny, so I stopped everything and gained it all back. I want to get to a healthy weight and KEEP focusing on my health and body.

SoWhyMe - HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!! 30 sucks, right? Actually, I am doing OK with it, but wish I would have hit my goal weight 5 years ago! Ah, to be 25 again.

Thanks again everyone!!!!
