New ~ and need help/direction

Ok, here it is. I am fat. Officially catorigized as obese. I am 34 (just turned) and weight 245 and I "should be" 166 according to the chart. I have 2 children 4 and 2, and work full time. My job is very physical the first 2 weeks of the month then slowly gets slower. I am very athletic believe it or not. In school / high school and college. I play golf every monday (9 holes) and walk it. no cart for me. Never did. I just got a gym membership to Urban Active Fitness cause I have to change. My boy says I have a big belly and I am the heaviest I have ever been.

Mornings are bad cause I don't eat anything. I know, I know... but I dont. I am completely addicted to coffee and Diet coke. I probably (no lie) have 4-6 20oz diet cokes a day. hardly any water. My lunches are horrible. I run out and get fast food normally cauese of the time crunch and how busy we are at work. Sometimes subway, but mostly not. Dinners are a different story. I do all the cooking at home and I really do a good job for the wife and kids. Most dinners are Protien, vegtables and fruit. My kids LOVE fruit. I do Fish (organic scotland wild) salmon that i get fresh, usually 2-3 times a week. 1-2 I also get some really good Sea Scallops and make those. The Salmon is always broiled and just salt/pepper. I do have to say the best thing I do is give my children the best nutrition I can. OMEGA 3 organic fortified milk (Horizons), Lean and unbreaded protien, vegtables, and loads of fruit.

Anyway. I need to lose weight, and drop body fat %. I have a trip to London then Italy for 6 days in August that I want to look 1/2 decent for. thats about it. I am on here to meet people, gain some support and maybe find some local people to meet and do active things.

anywho, breakfast is a big thing to kickstarting your metabolism for sure. i know sodas are full of sugar and fast food isnt so hot either. ever thought of making lunch or something at home and taking it with you to work?

i do it, i usually make my breakfast (oatmeal) the night before so when i wake up all i have to do is throw it in the microwave

and instead of eating 2 square meals a day, break it up into 5 smaller ones. thats the best advice i can give ya at the moment, just to get a start

one last thing, water is a must. might not be as sweet as coke, but its way more beneficial

Breakfast - Alternate Oatmeal and Total Cereal

Lunch - i am going to make sandwhiches. Heathly heart (sara lee) wheat bread, 1 slice of Provalone, and 3 slices/strips of Turkey Pastrami (96% fat free).

Dinners - are usually always good.

I am very good at not snacking at night. We dont' snack. Weird i know, but our family just doesn't snack. we dont' have chips or anything like that in the house. We do fruit at 7:30ish (dinner at 6:00) for somethign before we go to bed. I will need help on snacks though if anyone knows of good ones to use. My brother recommended the South beach bars but to be honest I have no idea what to do for 5 meals a day. thanks though. i know I gotta lose the diet coke. i need to replace it with water.

Monday I am going to try this new "lifestyle" change and try and work in some cardio and weight training.
