I have had JIB surgery in 1981. I am relatively "lucky"in that I only regained half the weight I originally lost and that I don''t have too much health problems(touch wood).
I am only aware of one problem that is common for this type of surgery over time and I am managing that right now. I get arthritis-dermatitis syndrome from a build-up of bad bacteria in my unused portion of small intestine. I am currently using Doxycycline which is a broad spectrum antibiotic for bacteria which seems to help and I also take more than the recommended dose of friendly bacteria in capsule form. Seems to work. I would appreciate any comments, advise or just to make contact with someone else in my position.:Angel_anim:

Hi, I don't have any advice, sorry! I had never heard of JIB until now and I did some web research. I'm really glad you haven't any of the other complications! It sounds like you have more than one reason to keep up on your health.

What is your plan to lose the weight you've regained?

i have absolutely no plan!! i have tried and tested many, al the major diets out there, weight watchers etc. old problem every time, it only works temporarily. dieting has also become complicated as i quickly become malnourished if i eat too little. my absorption is not working as it should and i get leg cramps when i diet. complicated. i should exercise more and make healthy choices then i loose weight. i also found if i only eat when i am hungry and stop when i feel full, i loose weight. but here i am, and eat-a-holic!!!
