I have had JIB surgery in 1981. I am relatively "lucky"in that I only regained half the weight I originally lost and that I don''t have too much health problems(touch wood).
I am only aware of one problem that is common for this type of surgery over time and I am managing that right now. I get arthritis-dermatitis syndrome from a build-up of bad bacteria in my unused portion of small intestine. I am currently using Doxycycline which is a broad spectrum antibiotic for bacteria which seems to help and I also take more than the recommended dose of friendly bacteria in capsule form. Seems to work. I would appreciate any comments, advise or just to make contact with someone else in my position.
