Hi folks,
I am a 16 year old male who is 6'1 225 pounds and I am big. I am big in the thighs, the butt, the stomach. the rest of my body is normal so to be honest I look a little disproportionate. Anyways, I went into a gym and got a consultation from a trainer who put me on an exercise program: 20-30 mins of cardio then 20-30 mins of strength. I do this 2-3 times a week after school and have done so for the past 3 weeks or so (not as consistently for the last month and a bit). In truth, I would love to look great as fast as I can (I don't mean this in being thin, I want to be muscular on top of being fit) and I never really looked at my weight as a realistic measuring tool cause I'm hoping that with some of the pounds of fat I am burning off I am gaining those same pounds back in muscle. But if physical date is a better goal, then I am hoping to "look better" by next summer. Will this routine get me there? If not, how about walking every morning for half an hour, is that worth adding in? What other things can I do to help make this process successful. Any foods in particular I should eat for meals? What are some good pre-workout meals that are good? I also read on another forum that you always do strength before cardio, is this true?
Thanks a lot for your help and any other advice or wisdom you guys wanna pass on would be extremely helpful.
