Needing Lots of Support

Hi Guys! I'm a 31 year old chick who is trying to finally conquer the overweight beast that I've become. All I'm looking for is a few people to help me out. I've committed myself to finally lose weight this year more because I need to. I think it's the reason my husband and I can't get pregnant. I've gained about 40 pounds since we met and I'm pretty much disgusted with myself. I have become a "closet eater" because I'm embarrassed of the way I eat. I can't control myself and I'm afraid I'm going to end up worse than I already am. thanks for all of your support. I hope I don't sound like too much of a hopeless cause.

you're only hopeless if you believe you are...

Start yourself a diary - it's one method of getting support on this forum - as well as letting people get to know you better.

Commiting to losing weight is a good thing, when you're finally ready it's not that difficult to do...

What's your plan on how to get you to your goals?

Do spend some time readinng the stickied threads around the forum -they are chock full of good information and ideas to really get you on your way.. and do ask questions after reading...

Welcome and have fun while you are here.

:waving: Welcome to the Forum! I just recently joined last week..and I absolutely love it. There are so many encouraging people on here to help keep you motivated!

And about the pregnancy - one of my best friends was going through the same thing with her husband. She took all sorts of different medications, tried everything to get pregnant, they were both tested, and no problems there, but she couldn't get pregnant.

She ended up losing 60 lbs over a 7 month period..and she's due in April of this year! She said that her doctor never even mentioned the idea to her, she just took it upon herself to try it.

You're not a hopeless cause at all! In 2005, the year I met my boyfriend, I had lost 60 lbs. He moved up here in March 2006 and since then, I have gained 40 lbs as well...so I am on the same journey you are.

Just take it one day at a time...it takes a couple of weeks to REALLY get into it...but this forum will definitely help. Like Mal said, a diary is very helpful. Are you exercising at all?
