Need To Lose Weight - Please Help

Hi,
I'm 17 years old, a JR in High School, and I am about 300 pounds...
I want to lose weight BAD!!!
I want to lose ATLEAST 60 or 70 pounds...
I've always wanted to join the basketball and baseball teams at school, but always felt too self-conscious about it...
I feel so self-conscious that I wont even go swimming at my other house that is on a lake, or even in my relatives pool!
I want to be normal.. I want to be able to join the athletic teams at school...
I NEED TO LOOSE WEIGHT!!

Please help me...

Well do a little research into excercise/weightlifting. I would even recommend a bodybuilding forum for younger males such as yourself. Just do a little research on excercise(bulknutrition.com has good forums, and abcbodybuilding.com has lots of info as well) just do some research. It'll probably end up with looking at your diet first(which is the most important) and some sort of cardio at least 3 times weekly, plus weight training at least 3-4 times weekly. Again do the research, when you lose the fat you'll want to build some muscle up and research will bring you to that point. Drink lots of water and good luck.
 
My brother at your age managed to lose a lot of weight and get fit by playing basketball. He was playing every afternoon with friends in the neighborhood. Since this is also what you like why don't you start playing with friends on a regular basis and see it as fun first and then you opt for the School Team.

If you also cut back on junk food and eat normal portions of home cooked meals, start eating fruits every day and most importantly drink at least 8 glasses of water not counting juices and soft drinks you'll have great results.

That`s the best advice there is! No one can help you, if you lie on a bed complaining without trying to move and do something! Go ahead and DO it.
