That's not about energy - it's about getting off your butt and doing it. :)

First of all, it might not be possible to lose 20 lbs in a month. That's a lot of weight and unless you intend to do some kind of supported protein fast, it's not really healthy (and even then, it's questionable).

It's better to plan to be healthy and lose a reasonable amount of weight (for you that would be 2-ish pounds per week).

Also .. as far as exercise, you just have to do it. Honestly, there's no other magic bullet. The analogy I use a lot is this one: I don't get up and go to work every morning because I like getting out of bed at 6:30 and fighting traffic and sitting in a cube. I do it because I have to. Because I need to earn a living and pay the bills. I don't lie in bed in the mornings and say "I think I'll stay home today". Exercise is the same: I do it because I have to, not because I want to. I don't sit on my butt on the sofa and say "I don't feel like exercising today." I just get up and do it.

No one can make the decision to do it for you. :) You have to decide it's important enough.

Why would you want to join the Army? The Marines are better :sifone:

I'd say it may be possible to do in the 6 weeks you have but you need to be really motivated, exercise a lot and of course eat the right foods.
I think beans would be a good source of energy that lasts a long time.
Several fruits throughout the day for a quick and healthy energy boost and lean meat for protein.
Nuts are also good energy but don't get salted or sugar coated ones.
Drink a lot of water and maybe some sports drink once a day. No sugar drinks.
Of course don't forget your veggies.

Jog, walk and hike at least twice a day and do sit-ups, push-ups, squats and pull-ups. That's likely what you'll do a lot of in boot camp anyway and probably more like 3 times a day. Unless you get punished a lot and have to do more:smilielol5:

Maybe do lighter exercise later in the day so you don't feel so hungry as from heavy exercise...and then eat as light a meal as possible for dinner so that your body is spending energy for your body and not for digesting while you sleep.

Get up about 0500 to start your routine and be ready for bed by around 20 or 2100.
Yer in the Army now!:cuss: :cuss:

Most people have to work hard to pass exams or to get promoted at work.

In a similar way - weight loss will not magically happen unless you work hard to make it happen. The fact that your weight is higher than you would like means that your natural lifestyle is not conducive to weight loss for your body.

You know fine well that the only person that can make you exercise is YOU. Similarly - the only person that can ensure that you eat healthily is YOU.

Read the exercise and nutrition section so that you know what to do. Then do it.

That's right Omega! You yell in one of his ears, I yell in the other and Kara in his face...just like drill instructors :cuss::cuss::cuss:

Just remember Matt, the harder you push yourself now the easier it will be on you in bootcamp. Before I went into bootcamp I pushed myself physically very hard and it really paid off. It even got me my first stripe.
