Hi There Mir, First of all, good luck to you. Knowing you need to make a change is the first step. You will need to decide on a plan to follow, whether it is a High Protein/Low Carb option like Atkins, or a or a plan like the Alkaline diet, which is primarily leafy green based. You should pick your plan, buy a book on it, and educate yourself.

Whatever plan you decide on, you will be cutting out the junk food, desserts, and processed foods. Don't believe what some people will tell you regarding "Cheat" days. I can tell you from experience that one cheat day will destroy a whole week of proper eating. Pick your plan and stick to it. Period.

Finally, for exercise, you will need to do more than simply walking. You need to stimulate your body to build some muscle. Lifting with free weights, and interval training will give you much more bang for the buck.

Take care, and good luck...Kevin

I have lost 7 lbs in one week on the 90 day Challenge by Visalus and feel GREAT!. I am retired U.S. Army and my wife and I both use it. She has lost weight as well and we both feel extremely energetic. I was skeptical at first but after talking to so many of my fellow soldiers that used it I decided to try it myself and it really works. I am now building a team of veterans, their spouses and others that use the Challenge to stay in shape and promote it to others event those that do not have military backgrounds to improve their health and prosperity. The shakes are absolutely delicious and this is coming from a previously serious eater of all the wrong but delicious things. I now substitute two shakes and eat one nice sensible meal combined with healthy snacks and exercise. It is a plan that performs as advertised plus it is fun to do the challenge with everyone else and get the "I Lost It" shirts. The support community is amazing!!! I will share what my wife and I are doing with anyone that would like more info.. will post updates.
