Need to gain a lot of weight fast...

Age: 16
Sex: male
Height: 6'3"
Weight: 160lbs
Waist: 32

As you can see, I'm a really tall guy but I'm also really skinny. I've always hated it; it's restricted what I can wear because of embarrassment, made it tough as hell to find pants that fit, and been a reason some guys make fun of me. Summer is about here, and for my senior year I want to gain AS MUCH WEIGHT AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE. I don't necessarily just want muscle mass, I just want mass in the 3 or so months my summer provides. I do, however, plan to lift 4-5 days a week (thought I'm not a real hardcore lifter.) During the summer, i'll finally have time to eat whenever i want, basically. Now while school is going, I usually don't eat too much of a lunch, I'm way too tired to eat breakfast, my dinner's are pretty big, and I snack before bed. Can someone please give a good "gain weight fast" diet, explain to me what I need to be eating (realistically, can't eat fish and steak every 2.5 hours), what good supplements are (I've tried one whey protein with milk/smoothies...it was unbearable), and anything else I need to know. Yes, I know and have read the key here is "eat eat eat", but please someone help, it would mean the world to me to get up to like 190+... thank you so much.

Eat. You are going to have to eat whenever and whatever you can. The downside of trying to gain a lot of mass in a short period of time is that a big portion of that mass will be fat.

i dont know about gaining that much weight in one summer, but at the beginning of last summer, i was 161, and i am now about 195. i am 5'11, so that is a noticable jump. Heres the program i did:

day 1: chest
day 2: back
day 3: triceps/shoulders
day 4: legs/ biceps
day 5: rest
day 6: rest or start again depending how you body feels

switch up the exercises once every 6 weeks or so

i alternated higher volume/moderate intensity woth low volume high intensity about every 10 weeks. eat a lot of quality food: lean meats are in, junk food is out. i would buy a protein suppliment. i get bargain whey protein, and it is really cheap...5 lbs= $20. i get the chocolate kind, which isnt bad...its no nestle quik, but its not horrible. eat breakfast. start now. the first thing you should do when you wake up is drink a protein shake. i would advise a good carb source for breakfast like oatmeal with a protein shake. breakfast is the most important meal of your day because when you first wake up, you body is craving nutrients, and if you dont get carbs and protein soon, your body will start digesting its muscles. right after you workout, take in a good amount of high quality carbs and a protein shake (you body will be very receptive to protein at this time, and whey protein acts fast). I wouldn't recommend creatine at age 16 since its effects on growth arent known yet, but once you are done growing, id recommend cycling creatine. as its been said, you will gain some fat. that is inevitable if you are going to gain mass. just eat healthy to minimize the fat gain, and do some cardio. however, dont do it to often, as it may hinder your mass gain efforts. drink lots of water. lots and lots of water. and lstly, dont get hurt. listen to your body. its easy to tell the difference between the good kind of pain and the bad kind.

hope this helps...good luck!

During the summer, i'll finally have time to eat whenever i want, basically. Now while school is going, I usually don't eat too much of a lunch, I'm way too tired to eat breakfast, my dinner's are pretty big, and I snack before bed.

So do you think you can manage a good eating lifestyle now that school is over? You're tired for breakfast, get better sleep. Don't go to bed past midnight if you can help it. Wake up naturally without an alarm clock-- when you wake up, get up.

Lunch needs to be in there, as well as a snack between Bfast and lunch, avoid heavy snacking at night, especially snacks high in carbohydrates.

I talk to many who want to gain weight because they are a so called, 'hard gainer'. You are what you title yourself. And most of those I talk to when I suggest 5-8 meals/snacks a day, they say no, its not possible.

IF this isn't feasible, don't expect to gain. Also, watch your workouts. You don't need to kill yourself with that 5-6 workouts per week if you are just starting out. Now let's see if you learn anything! :) Happy lifting and eating!

Woo, thanks a bunch guys, I'll be sure to do what you say and hopefully I'll get some good results.
