I'm going abroad for 6 weeks and need some tips to help me stick to my diet. I cannot afford to take these 6 weeks off and want to continue to lose weight. I will be walking alot which is a good thing but I need help more with food choices. Thank u!!!!

Keep fruits and veggies in your diet and fill up on them. Then when you're out somewhere eating, just make it small portions.

More information would probably be helpful to give you better advice. You need to realize that if you are counting calories and sticking to a specific plan that it will be very difficult to follow it rigidly while dining out or eating with family etc.

Tips for eating in a restaurant:

Have the house salad. Almost all restaurants use high fat caeser dressing on caeser salads so you want to avoid those as much as possible. Get a balsamic vingerette or a low fat italian dressing with it. Having the salad instead of a potato or bread will allow you to avoid dense carbs.

Leaner meats like chicken, turkey, and to a lesser degree, steak, are your friend. Pasta is the devil. Minimal micro nutrients and loads of calories. Fish that hasn't been battered or fried is probably fine too. Just asked how its cooked. Grilled is always good.

Have water with your meal. If you are going to have alcohol alternate between a drink and a glass of water. It will slow you down and have you consume fewer calories, help out your liver, and help your bank account.

If you have to eat at a place like McDonald's get the grilled chicken salad with the italian dressing if they have it. Whole thing is only about 350 calories, just don't get a sugary drink on top of it.

The best advice is to watch portion sizes, chew slowly, and don't be afraid to leave food on the plate.

i dont know ur stats and everyone is very different - but just in case your body is anything like mine.... dont be like me! ... you need to remember to eat. dont go a couple days with one meal only and not eat... i know sometimes people think not eating is better than eating, but you need to eat. dont go a whole day without eating becomes if you get into a habit of that, your body will go into starvation mode, your metabolism will plummet and when you do eat a bunch of food again, your body will be storing it as fat everywhere.... and u will eventually become like me :(

stick to eating healthy foods throughout the day, if you absolutely cannot, start altering the meals. go to mcdonalds, get the grilled chicken sandwich, no condiments... or ditch the bread if youre worried they grill it in butter. Or like the post said above, the grilled chicken salad... no burgers, no fries, etc.

when you eat out, skip the appetizers, and the bread - look for grilled chicken and fish. swap out potatoes and fries with steamed veggies or salad w/dressing on the side (definitely stick to raw or steamed, sometimes roasted - sauteed usually means cooked in fat) skip desserts, eat breakfast... maybe bring old fashioned oatmeal with you - all it needs is hot water.......

hmmmm..... i know all of this is easier said than done.... but at least you'll be knowing what to look for

Having just come back from a business trip, I tried something different. I would usually just chuck the diet out when I traveled.

This time, I said no to desserts, even if everyone else was having it. I have a friend who is super skinny at work, and I was watching her eat, and I following her lead. She didn't eat bread that was served in the restaurants, she ate a ton of fruit and salads, she always asked for the sauces on the side, she drank only water, etc.

I'm on that kick right now -- to watch how skinny people eat. It's been enlightening.

Bring snacks with you, there will be grocery stores, buy snacks there, and take them with you -- it's cheaper than buying a snack on the street.

Hi all...
Don't any tension because it can also be harmful to your health. Don't eat oily and try avoid fast food because in that lots of calories exist so its harms your body...

well if your leaving the country then luck for you the food is porbably already

much healthier, but just try to be discplined and keep your goals on your

mind, be realistic and give yourself meals you can eat a little more freely so

you are not constantly thinking about food, you will probably be busy so

food won't be as much a priority as you think.
