need some ideas

veges and fruit - i fill up on them!
They are really low calorie and im not overly fond of them, but they really help me stop being hungry all the time.
Also i eat a lot of meat and protien, so i loose fat and not muscle. I generally stay away from anything processed except probably bread .
i loooove my bread! but now i have wheatmeal and thin slice with 80% fat free spread

Specific foods don't create weight loss. You need to account for and manage energy (calorie) balances.

Expend more energy than you intake, weight loss will occur.

Vice versa, and it won't.

Just make sure that you are getting all the right amounts of protein, carbs, and fats and creating a calorie deficit like Steve said and you will lose.
Fitday is a great way to make sure your meals fit the above.

miracle food

Like some of the others said there is no miracle food. You have to account for all calories taken in. On the other hand I do believe certain food will give you a longer lasting feeling of being full. A large majority of people turn to the glycemic index. The lower on the glycemic index the longer it is going to take for that food to break down. For instance if you eat a candy bar the sugars hit your system quickly and your body kicks up the insulin levels. The insulin takes the sugars out of the blood stream and store them away as fat. From there it takes alot more to get fat to metabolise. Now if you were to eat a sweet potatoe it would slowly break down and gradually feed your system preventing your body from producing insulin and there for you get alot better use of your food much more easily. Simply put stay away from the simple carbs. Your body cant use simple carbs quick enough.

Echo Steve and Eric,

I think it's best to eat simple foods, meaning without lots of processing, additives, sauces and nonsense. Whole foods.

Bring your own lunch to work or wherever, it is very diffiult to control what you're eating when you're eating at a restaurant. Portions at restaurants are WAY bigger than need be.

I have been using FitDay (no affiliation etc.) to track my eating. It is remarkable how small things add up, even healthy things! I plan to keep tabs in formal way daily for as long as it takes for me to really understand how much I need to consume to support my lifestyle.

I am convinced that the focus really shouldn't be on losing weight, the focus should be on developing a way of eating and exercising, which will result in a fit body and a healthy weight for the rest of our lives.

Enjoy the journey!
