It depends on what you're eating, of course. But it definitely won't hurt! Maybe you should keep track of what you're eating, just to see.

Exercise is very important to weight loss, but proper eating, and portions are more important. Put the combo together and I gurantee that you will succeed. Visit my website for a few tips on weight loss.

Variety

When I have gone to personal trainers in the past they have always encouraged variety and that seems to help. One week of 6 on the tread mills does not sound like to much. But in the next few weeks you may need to do things differently in order to continue seeing weight loss. I have read in several magazines that it can be helpful to go at a comfortable pace for 2 minutes and then exert yourself for 20 to 40 seconds. Several intervals like this is suppost to be helpful for boosting the metabolism.

I have been running a half mile 3 days a week for a few weeks and I know I need to switch things up. I did a 5 K a year ago and it gave me something to strive for. Do you participate in 5Ks. It would be nice to have someone else that is training for a goal.

Good Luck.
Let me know what works for you

Running on the treadmill is great, but for best weight loss you need a variety of exercise, and most importantly, proper nutrition. An effective weight loss program would include varying types of cardio (some long, slow sessions, some short, fast sessions, some intervals), as well as strength training. Still, proper nutrition is paramount. Are you eating white pasta? White pasta is not a god choice. The whites (white bread, pasta, rice, etc) react the same way in the body as sugar. The liver is mor elikely to store them as fat if not used quickly. Let me know if I can help.
