Need some advice - yes, man boobs

Hey everyone.

I'll make a long story short and get to the point.

At the start of the year, I was about 185ish at 5'10. I'm a 21 year old male by the way.

Anyway, I started training for a Marine Corps officer PFT about 4 months ago and went from 185 to 160, went from not being able to do a single pull-up to 18, and can run up to 5 miles, etc.

I had pretty big moobs (man boobs) when I was 185 and out of shape, which is understandable. But now, my stomach flattened out, but I still sort of have them. My most recent BMI at 160 lbs was about 14% body fat. I'd really like to lose them without surgery or anything like that.

Any advice? Should I just focus on shredding body fat?

Thanks in advance.

Hi

I am in a similar situation as you're in right now. Two years ago i was overweight around 220 pounds, then decided to make changes to my life style brought my weight down to 165...however, i only focused on losing fat and not building muscle and i discovered that I had gynecomastia (man-boobs) how did i know? i did a self diagnosis and i felt a glad on both nipples checked with my physician and he confirmed it to me. there isnt really a way out of it except surgery which ranges between (2,700-10,000) US Dollars.

The more weight you lose the more apparent it will be, so what I would advise you is try to build more muscle especially upper pectorial area. do lot of Upper chest workouts (incline) lot of dips, chin and pull ups this will give your body a good definition.

I am currently 185pounds with only 11% body fat...do I still notice the puffy nipples? yes...but not the same when I brought my weight down to 165 pounds.

What I personally did is I accepted the fact that I have gynecomastia (puffy nipples), will I have surgery in the future? Maybe not. I decided to love myself the way I am...and the way I see it is nobody's perfect.

Good luck

Dude! i feel your pain, it does suck. It sucked so bad for me that I got the surgery. Now, the surgery did do a lot of good, but they are still noticeable. Iam still losing weight tho. I have noticed with doing cardio and weight lifting, especially a lot of bench press and flies, along with puch ups, they are turning into a regular chest. The ONLY regret I have is the scars...not too noticeable, but still present. Good luck bro!
