Need Help Raising Max Bench

Yeah its been a while since ive been on but ive been working out lyk a madman lol. If u dont remmeber i just turned 16 last week i weight 132 pounds and im 5'10. Now ive been benching lyk crazy, soo much idk how but iv enot made as much improvement as i would ylk, i havent increased my max benching , no matter how close i get to rasiign it my muscle cant seem to go over 165 pounds. I improved my curling max from 110 pounds to 150 pounds, and i can shoulder press 160 pounds, but i cant improve my benching. Some good useful tips would be greatly appreciated, thanx much in advance.

I would take a break.. Just allow your body to recover fully (one or two weeks). During this time be sure not to slip up and mess up your eating (unless you already eat poorly). It's amazing how sometimes allowing your body to recouperate all the way can spark growth and strength increases.

How are your other exercises? I see you have your bench and curl posted up.. But what about squat? I know it sounds crazy, but squatting can actually increase your upper body stability a lot..

ummm

well i dont doo squats i usually if anything for my legs ill do leg presses, now i dont know my max, last time i checked it was over 200 but IDK how much, and ive only done deadlift one time and it was 210 but it hurt my backs o i dont doo it. Should i be eating a ****load everyday, lyk i mean not lyk candy but lyk meaty foods, i try to eat a lot, but my parents go to grocery store dont buy any food other than dinner and i eat a lot of dinner, and i usually end up buying my own food, so yeh....hers a dumb questions actually, yeh its lyk a noobie qestion, but i think im doing someithng wrong, now while im bringing the bar down am i stposed to breathe in or breathe out?, and same when going up cuz sumtimes my breathing messes up my sets n stuff, feedback please, also some benching 'tips' would help too :)

I would aim to strengthen your core with squats. You are really going to limit your overall growth if you ignore deads and squats. If it hurts, chances are you are underdeveloped in that region. lLwer the weight and work your way up.

iyt yeh ive been trying to strengthen my low back and abs lately mostly actually, cuz a personal trainer told me my torso it my foundation or construction site i guess u could say now, lol and my arms are lyk a crane, without a strong foundation the crane cant hold up heavy weight, lol damn hippys naw tho, ima try to get more into my lower body now and see how everything works out

Dude if you want help you don't need to post riduclous numbers. I'm 220 and can deadlift 420-440lbs and bench 260-275lbs and i "might" be able to curl 150lbs using a cheated motion.

No way in hell you can curl that kind of weight at a measly 132lbs.

You want help from people who have some clue and anyone that has a clue will know that's BS.

Anyhow, i wouldn't try to increase your bench strength too fast you need time for your tendons and connective tissues to adapt to your new strength levels. Muscle strength generally increases faster then tendons and connective tissues thus leaving them prone to injury.

What kind of set/rep parameters are you using?

w/e dude you dont have to believe, until last year the only weight lifting ive ever done is curls, and ive been doing it since 6th grade but w/e i dont care if u believe me i was just saying.

Well you never know - if so its pretty impressive. But its an oddity to say the least.

Post your set/rep parameters if you want some ideas. How long have you been benching?

If you can curl 150lbs You should call up the papers, you'd have a news crew round that day.

Maybe you can hold on to a 150lb bar and throw it up using a jumpping motion, but I would bet my house you cant do it slowly keeping ur elbows in the same possition.

The stringest guy I know is a powerlifter who can deadlift 600lbs, he can only curl 110lbs
