I am overweight, not very overweight, but enough that I'd consider myself "fat". My biggest problem is my "beer gut" and that is the main focus I'd like to trip down through weight loss. I figure anything that can be done in terms of weight loss to take the gut away will do great on the rest of my over weight areas (almost all of my noticeable fatness is on and around my stomach and chest).
So obviously the two main things to fix to make this happen would be diet and exercise, but both of those are not topics I'm too well informed with, I'll give a brief summary of how I handle each right now.
Diet - My diet is not terrible, but there is certainly room for improvement. I drink about 2L of water each day, give or take. As far as food is concerned, I am very good at avoiding obviously unhealthy food - chips, candy, cakes, cookies, fast food, all of that junk I pretty much never touch. Actual meal food ranges, but my main meals are almost always things like pasta (whole wheat, usually), sandwiches (ham/chicken/turkey, mustard, lettuce, cheese, whole wheat bread), or soup (tomato). I usually eat two main meals in a day, which are the things I just listed, one around noon and the other around six. Everything else is just small snacks to tide me over, (an apple, carrot sticks, just small things like that).
Exercise - there really isn't much to put here, other than to outline my lack of exercise. I pretty much never get any real intentional exercise. I walk to and from work every day which probably gives me a good 20 minutes of walking each day at most. I have tried things like running in the past but I just find it hard to make a habit of it because I'm so bad at it. I will literally do a jog for about 15 minutes after which I am sweating and quite tired. So I need some kind of method I can use for exercise that doesn't tire me out that bad (or maybe 15 minutes isn't that bad to start with?) or at least work me enough to start losing weight.
So that's pretty much all I have to sum up. Anything I wrote for my diet I am willing to change, both what I am eating or my eating schedule or anything like that. Same with exercise, if someone can suggest a solid working exercise plan that would work to help me lose weight I am willing to give it a shot. Anything that will help me lose this extra weight I am willing to give a try. My schedule is very flexible so I can easily make time for any changes, I just want to make the changes happen. The only thing I'm not looking for are things like diet pills or vitamin supplements and anything like that. I would like to work at this naturally first and then resort to other methods if that is unsuccessful over a long period of time. Thanks in advance, any more info needed just ask.
