Hi,

I'm Kim, 30 and I'm around 65lbs overweight! I guess it's just slowly crept on since I've stopped going to clubs, smoking etc.

I've tried so many times to lose weight but I can just never get blumin started :-( I'm sure once I get going and can see results I'll find it easier. So I am on here to try get me a bit of support and motivation as I think this will help get my will power under control.

I've never really used a forum before - but by the looks of it there's some really nice people on here :)

Here goes!

Hi Kimba! Welcome :)

Yes, this forum is excellent. You can find lots of support and great people here that can relate to what you're going through, no matter how bad the situation.

Starting out is always difficult because you don't know your limitations just yet in terms of your diet and exercising. You can do things in the beginning that you thought you could maintain, only to find that it was a little bit above realistic expectations because you were so anxious for quick results. You can't avoid bad food forever and some days you just don't have the energy to push yourself as hard when working out. If you hit a wall like that too soon at the beginning, it can lead to discouragement, which can lead to giving up, which always means failure.

We're not machines and days like that will come. Remember, it's a lifestyle change, not a diet. Take everything in stride :)

Start out slowly. Do exercises that feel comfortable at first. There's no rush and pushing yourself too hard at first could also lead to injury. Give it time, find your limits, gradually increase your activity over time, and you will see results as you go.

As long as you don't stop or give up, you will have success!

Take a look at the Before/After section of this forum to get an idea of how successful some people on this forum have been, and never hesitate to ask for help if you need it :)

Hope that helps and good luck!

I too was in your shoes and in only three months I am down thirty pounds. most important that I found was to make sure that you have good support and a good plan of action. once you get past that 21 day mark which is how long it takes to form a habit, it get easier. everyday strive to be the best you, good luck.

One day at a time, Kimba.

It is the every day, seemingly small things that add up.

You mentioned how you think some of the weigh gain happened, a little bit at a time, your habits changed.

Permanent weight loss works the same way, a little bit at a time. Just like weight does not all of the sudden pile up over night, so then too, will it not vanish the same way.

Small and consistent steps, that's how I did it.

You can do it too!
