Need assurance

HI everyone

I just typed a long post...and it disappeared...so here's an abbreviated version (I'm a SLOW typer!!!)

Just turned the big four -ohhhhh:eek: , mum of 4 , living in Oz, have been a serial yo-yoer, but this has to stop!!! I've done Atkins and SureSlim with great success...but A doesn't strike me as being the healthiest diet, and SS consultants didn't care once they got their $$$ and I never git to the maintenance prog.

So, have researched Cohen's, and am just looking for some reassurance - the consultants will actually care....won't they??? I need to do this as a start to a permanent change, and a healthy lifestyle from now on. Hubby & I need to lose about 25kg (55pounds) each. I've booked in for an info session this Friday (it's Wed am here!)

This looked like the most helpful and global forum. :)
Looking forward to getting to know some of you, and starting my journey!!!

Hi and welcome.

Honestly I'm not a big fan of any diet plan. There is a Cohen's section here on the board, and I'm sure you can get information there, but my honest opinion is that shelling out money to learn to do something you can learn yourself is a waste. :) I don't believe in "diets" in general though.

If it were me in your place, I'd start by registering for a free site on fitday.com or thedailyplate.com and start logging your food. There you'll see how many calories you're getting and how your nutrition breaks down. For a lot of people that's a big step towards learning to eat healthily -- to seeing where they can start cutting back or making changes.

Also check out the sticky posts in the various forums. There's tons of good information there that'll help get you started with nutrition and exercise. :)
