Need advice about maintaining

Hi everyone, my name is Sarah and I'm brand new to the forum. I reached my goal weight about 4 weeks ago (a total of 96 pounds lost) after a full year of hard work. I didn't go on a diet, but instead focused on eating 3 healthy meals a day for a daily total of 1300 to 1500 calories and doing the treadmill 5-6 days a week. I've reached a point where I don't want to lose anymore weight, but simply would like to stay at my current weight of 125 pounds. I know several people who have maintained their weight by really watching what they eat and exercising Monday - Friday, and then eating what they want on the weekends. I've tried it myself the last 2 weeks and have not gained any weight. I suppose the logic is that any pounds you might put on during the weekend, will be worked off during the week. Has anybody else found success with this method ? Because I think I could definitely stick to being good during the week, if I can look forward to a bit more freedom on the weekends.

13-1500 calories is a tad low especially given all the exercise you're doing.. why no strength training?

Finding your maintenance calories would be a good idea - and eating at that level for a while to see how your body reacts would probably be good - otherwise it'd seem you'd just be doing a lot of yo-yo'ing..

Spend some time with the stickied threads in the forum... especially on topic, nutrition and exercise... you'll get lots of good info and a calculator or two on finding your maintenance calories.. .

congrats on getting to your goal weight...
