Welcome to the forum!

Sounds like you are doing many things right in terms of the exercise. Being that you are only on day 3 of the Insanity workout you may start seeing results with the change in exercise.

As for your eating, are you counting your calories or anything else? And the cereal in the morning, is it a super sugary one? What about tea/coffee or soft drinks? I used to drink a LOT of Coke, and too much sugar in my tea, and while I still have too much sugar in my tea I have cut it down and rarely drink pop at all or eat salty snacks. What about your dinners, what do you generally eat? Lots of veggies or more meat and potatoes kind of thing?

Thanks for the response
I'm not counting calories I gave up junk food and soft drinks
I never drink coffee and rarely drink tea
My cereal is usually like Cheerios or honey bunches of oats
For dinner it's usually different every night
It's usually rice and like chicken or meat
Should I try to cut that out and eat like chicken with vegetables ?
And would it be smart to do insanity and run every day or would that be over working myself ?

Check on what sauces you are having with the chicken... Sometimes sauces can add a lot of calories... you can be calorie aware without counting calories. Opting for a lower calorie sauce is a good move.
Also aspects like how the chicken is cooked. If I cook chicken to have with rice (or indeed vegetables) and use a lot of oil or butter - the calorie count will be totally different to what I get if I get an oil spray like "fry light".

Eating vegetables (healthily cooked) is a good idea. Vegetables tend to be quite low in calories and can bring lots of vitamins into your diet. Lots of authorities suggest that we would benefit if we have 5 portions of fruit or veg every day.

Checking the sugar content of breakfast cereals can be a good idea. A lot of them are higher in sugar and calories than people imagine... serving sizes can be deceptive too... cereal packs talk of something like a 30g serving - but many of us find we have been happily having twice that or more.... while I can fully understand a reluctance to count calories - it can be a very useful exercise to measure out a recommended portion of such things and see how it compares to the amount that you habitually eat.

I would never suggest that a 16 year old consider weight loss products... Healthy eating habits and exercise are all you need.

I suggested what I did, he is doing what he needs to do. I would also suggest try to get involved with a sports team football, wrestling something to get you even more active

I like boiled veggies, but not over boiled and mushy, plus you lose the nutrients if you do that. I have been told brown rice is better than white, but if you are like me and prefer white rice try using basmati rice, I have heard that is better than other stuff. Try to boil it with little to no salt. Also using more spices rather than salt on foods is great to add flavor without the calories and excess salt intake.

I don't like counting calories, but I have become more "calorie aware" as Omega put it. I read the labels, and actually look at serving sizes now. It's crazy when I look at the size and thing about how much I am actually eating. Also sometimes the ingredients are surprising. I bought breaded chicken cutlets one day as they were on sale, the list of ingredients was INSANE! Shouldn't it just be chicken and the breaded stuff basically? Holy cow that amazed, disturbed, and disgusted me at the same time.

If you feel you are able to work out everyday I say go for it, but with that said many people recommend rest days. Your muscles need time to rest and rebuild and strengthen. Essentially you could workout daily but change which muscle group you are working out so each day a different group is working out while another is resting. You will know your body better than anyone else, keep an eye on it and if something doesn't seem right slow down or stop and make sure you aren't going to cause injuries to yourself, that will slow your progress down even more.

You are correct I am a distributor, and I am proud of the company that I am with, if it helps someone push through or helps them jump start that's great. But in no way did I state where to go, or what company I'm with. In fact if you look you'll see me tell him he's doing pretty much everything correct and he just needs to continue doing what he is doing. With my company I'm not in it just for the check like some are I'm actually trying to help those that would like the help. I never and will never push product on anyone especially someone that is under 18. So before you start judging me, get to know me otherwise why say anything?

Moderators are here to watch postings and decide whether people should be banned and / or their postings changed or removed.
That's why.

When someone tells a 16 year old who is doing things well that supplements might be a good idea - they should expect to be watched. Especially if they are a salesman whose job is to sell supplements...
I would be stunned if the other mods were not watching too...

I understand the job of a mod, and it would be a different story if I told him he should be dumping diet pills down his throat , or if I was just telling him supplements were the only answer. This will be last time I comment on this thread as I don't feel I did anything wrong and you obviously believe I did, and there is no sense of hijacking Sampras thread.

I thought that you were very close to the line.
If I had decided that you had indeed crossed it - you would have found yourself banned and all postings on the forum removed.

Haha guys,
Thanks for all of the feedback and advice. And I don't plan on using any supplements or anything I would rather close the weight naturally and feel good about it. I don't want to put things into my body that aren't healthy. I currently play tennis on my high school varsity team. Were in the off season so I'm not getting much workout from that. I think I'm gonna start running to help maximize my results.
Thanks again for the good advice.
More advice would be great!
