Nearly there... how much more should I lose? [Be warned... pics!]

Howdy all - I hope this doesn't seem impertinent a question to ask...
Over the last few years I've managed to lose a few stone - I'm now in the fortunate position that I'm at a healthy weight, and it's a matter of losing a tiny bit more to get things just right. I know I oughtn't really to complain at this stage, but since it's taken me quite a while to get here, I'm being a little bit of a perfectionist and hope to lose the rest by the summer!
Since I've never really paid much attention to my actual weight (rather, I've always thought about inches instead), I don't have much sense of how much further I need to go, but I'd quite like to have a rough impression of the number of pounds I should lose so that I can work out a sensible plan thinking about calories and whatnot. How many more pounds do you think would be enough just to get me a little more trim?

Anyway, I've attached a few pictures, I hope that's okay.

Many thanks!

Ah... it might also be useful to know my current weight. Roughly speaking, I'm around 150 pounds right now.

Also, apologies for the ridiculous English flag in the background - that's the leftover of my childish excitement at a World Cup when I was little... embarrassing!

Congrats, you have a really good body now!!
If you're a perfectionist and you want to have a dream body, i dont think you need to lose more weight..in fact if you did it would just make you extremely skinny, which isn't attractive on guys..
What i think you should do? Work out.. Do a little bit of body toning..you'll be all firm and maybe eventually work up a six pack to show off ;) and you'll actually end up GAINING a few pounds..but it'll be muscle weight..
good luck!! and congrats again :)

I agree. I think you should begin doing some sort of weight lifting or resistance workouts. Slowly adding some muscle mass will probably get you to where you'd like to be. :)

How much weight you lose is up to you. The suggestion about strength training is a great one. When your lean body mass is a great % of your overall body weight, it will also become more active in burning up calories. Nice job. You're looking great.

Ya i think you look sexy haha
but if you wanted like a six pack or some abs just do some ab exercises every other day considering your not suppose to work your abs everyday! lol :)

Thanks folks for your kind words and support - your suggestions sound very good. I've started doing some fairly standard ab/chest/arm exercises to work on toning, we'll see how that goes! I still reckon I could do with losing a few more pounds just to remove the padding, but hopefully it won't take too long to get where I'd like to be...

Fingers crossed!

Abs are made in the kitchen, not the gym. Don't lose sight of the fact that they won't show up until your BF % drops. Ideally, you'd incorporate weight lifting (more than just abs and upper body) and slowly increase your lean muscle mass...while lowering your BF%. That plan of attack will get you to where you'd like to be in a few months I'm sure. :)

Let's hope so! Really, I'm not looking for a washboard six pack, a bit of mild toning would be nice (but obviously in conjunction with a lower BF % so that it's actually visible!)
Anyway, gonna hopefully stick to shedding 1-2lbs a week through my eating habits, on top of which I'll crack on with the weight lifting.

Yes, the weight training for toning is a great idea, ha ha the pic with you grabbing your gut was funny! Toning it up might add a few pounds, but you will be toned and actually look really good.

What age range are you?

I turn 22 at the end of next week, so I'm probably among the younger members on this board. I built up a lot of weight as a young teenager and never really lost it as I grew taller - over the last few years I've gradually been losing pounds every so often, but it hasn't been a particularly dedicated process. So this time I'm hoping to finish the job off without any problems!

The toning is beginning to work well, by the way folks...

Good plan to lose it now and keep it off - as your skin is younger you'll undoubtedly tone up quicker.

I'm the opposite - used to be as skinny as a rake until I hit 30, and it's been downhill since then! In that year I also gave up smoking and stopped being vegetarian - but as well as putting on a few pounds I feel much healthier and have a lot more energy.
