Hello! My name is Cassie and I'm new here. After seeking motivation online it seems that looking at before and after photos works the best for me. Which is what lead me to this forum. I must say you are all very inspiring. I was just looking around at first thinking that I would never join or post out of embarrassment but after looking around for a good while I realize I'm just like everyone else and no one on here will judge me. That's a good feeling. :)

Anyways, I've just started being serious about weight loss. I finally got a family doctor and after a health professional telling you face to face that you need to loose weight I guess it kind of hit me. Having to go back in a few months to show him my progress makes me even more motivated. Last week I started the womens exercise gym called Curves. Since then I have cut back from 3-4 regular sodas a day to maybe 1 diet soda a day, but mostly just water or Gatorade. I now plan to eliminate sodas of any kind. I am eating healthier just by making better choices and I try to watch my calories. All of which I never did before. I'm already feeling so much better and the people around me are already saying something has changed about me and how much happier I seem. What feels so right about trying to loose weight this time is that I don't feel like I'm missing out on anything like I did before. I buy the 100 calorie snacks and once every day or so when I crave something sweet I can have my snack and it doesn't destroy me. I don't have any recent pictures of me at my highest weight and I will only be doing weigh-in's once a month at Curves. So, hopefully my progress ticker will jump dramatically once a month! ;) I hope to be getting a few recent pictures up soon and I will certainly take 'during' pictures to show myself (and everyone else!) how I'm doing.

Welcome! and iroonically, before and after pictures lead me here too. I also had the same perception as you "oh, I'm not gonna post on here", but after reading some of the posts, we are all here to help each other here.

So glad to see you here! Hopefully we can seem some before and after pics in the near future ;)
 
Hey girl, you got a long ride, I hope it works out for you. Suggestion: eat flavorless fat-free yogurt everyday...it helps. =)
