Myths

oi guys,
i heard a couple uv things last day
i wonder if you know about them ,maybe you could tell me if theyre true

1)i heard that if you take a nap after a meal (specially mid day and meals after 2:00pm)you gain weight

2)i also heard that if you consume very few calories (eg. 800 to 1000 when you need 2500) you also gain weight , but correct me if im wrong but ,the trick is to use more than you gain, that basically is burning more than you consume. so its the same innit?

The first one is sort of true. When you sleep your metabolism does drop, meaning you will burn less calories, however its not enough to make you gain weight.

The second one is definitely true. Our bodies have a prehistoric mechanism in them that protects us from a famine stage where food is scarce. When the body determines its caloric intake is too low, we enter what some of us like to call "starvation mode" and your body will fight to keep fat. Your body will actually sacrifice muscle to keep the fat.

Keep it over 1500 calories just to be safe.

about number 1 - this is great, even tho you will gain the tinyest tinyest bit of fat, your muscles will heal so much quicker.

Its a good thing to do. no more than an hour tho.
