My Workout/Progress + Input

I am 17 years old, I started at 220lbs.

(1 year later)

Down to 160lbs

Wake up 4:50 for morning workout, Weights first for 30 min, then 30 min running.

Breakfast is usually just some GNC Whey Protien, and a banana, after the workout.

(classes)

I usually have no time for lunch so I drink several bottles of water at school to try to keep my metabolism going, sometimes I get a powerbar in.

I get home at 4:00 So I usually eat my lunch then (small lunch)

Then dinner at 6-7:15

Then another cardio workout.

I go to the gym on weekends (only day I rest is sunday) but I have a boflex + tread at my house.

I was losing weight really fast, its starting to slow down now. I really dont care what I weigh, jsut trying to cut fat and build muscle, which I am doing.

Just looking for input if anyone can improve my workout or give me better meal ideas.

Definitely need to eat more. The less fequently you eat, the bigger the meals need to be. Have you been doing the same workout the whole year?

Basically I did that for a year, I do usually spice it up more on the weekends when I have time to go to the gym. I am planning out some new things to do, and I have learned a lot just from posting/reading here for a few days.

The hard part is finding time too eat. I think I'm going to eat a much bigger breakfast. Its hard to eat from 7-4 because my school schedule is so packed, I don't even have a lunch hour.

7:00 - 8:00 Morning AP class

8:00 - 11:00 Networking (there is potential here I think, 3 hours of sitting in front of a computer screen, I usually consume 2-3 bottles of water in here, and I try to have a meal bar when I can, just gets expensive to have one every day)

11:00 - 12:00 (should be my lunch hour but I spend it driving 30 min to my college class)

12:00 to 3:00 2 college classes

3 - 4 getting home

Only a few more months of this though, then I go to college. Then I will have a few gyms on campus and a lot more time. + summer time

You need to change up your routine, up your calories, basically do an overhaul of everything you have been doing. Doing some research around the board or even taking a look at tony's links in his sig should take care of that.
As far as getting meals in well with the right planning and care you can always get food in. Sometimes 2 of my meals are eaten in my car in a day.

Eat Breakfast
7:00 - 8:00 Morning AP class

8:00 - 11:00 Networking (there is potential here I think, 3 hours of sitting in front of a computer screen, I usually consume 2-3 bottles of water in here, and I try to have a meal bar when I can, just gets expensive to have one every day) Make your own bars, will be better than bought ones and give you a stock to have on hand and is cheaper

11:00 - 12:00 (should be my lunch hour but I spend it driving 30 min to my college class) Get a cooler, keep your meals in the car. Eat on the way. If it can fit in a ziplock bag or container, bowl whatever it can travel

12:00 to 3:00 2 college classes

3 - 4 getting home
Eat when you arrive at home

Point being if it is important enough to you, you can always make it work. :)

Making my own bars sounds interesting, would you care to give me a little more info on that? I'm going to try to do some research myself.

Thanks for the input.

Ok I just made a few batches.

(all coming from from your cutting bar recipe)

I made one pretty plain and exactly how the recipe went. Vanilla whey + oats + fat free sugar free vanilla pudding.

Second one was the same but with strawberry whey.

The third one I messed with a bit, I did vanilla whey + oats + vanilla pudding, but I added some cinnamon, sweet n low, and a little bit of peanut butter.

Hopefully the 3rd one is not too bad, the peanut butter adds more calories and fat, and I'm not sure on the cinnamon and sweetener. I was jsut trying to add some more flavor.
