My weight lose plan

Since I'm unemployable because of PTSD from the Army I have decided to try the following.

Eat small meal when I wake up, and eat small meals out through the day only when my body tells me to eat.

Meals I will try to stick to:

First meal of the day:

2 whole large eggs

1 large egg white

black pepper

two wheat pieces of bread with lite calcium butter

(OR)

1 measured cup of rice chex cereal

1 measured cup of 2% milk

Meals out through rest of day:

MEAL:

1 baked chicken leg minus skin

X amount of lettuce (no dressing)

1/4 cup of peas with X amount of green onion

MEAL:

1 breaded chicken patty from GFS (No bread)

1 slice of tomato

1/4 cup of peas

MEAL:

Hamburger helper (small portion)

X amount of lettuce

MEAL:

>1/8lb of boiled angel haired pasta with a little italian dressing

1/4 cup of peas

X amount of diced onion

Drink: Mostly water. I allow myself two 8oz glasses of Dr Pepper out through the day so I can slowly cut soda off completely

Exercise: Even days HIIT training, Odd days lower body cardio/HIIT. Can't run or jog until my weight gets down to safe level.

Here is my first workout I did:

note: first number is actual second is goal. 15/30

Hey and welcome!

Do you know if this amount of food in a day is fewer calories than what you were previously eating? There is quite a bit of room for improvement in terms of the quality of the food that you're planning to eat, but the main thing is that you need to get a handle on the amount of food that you're eating, then make small changes as you go. What I mean about quality is that the above food plan is really lacking in fruits and veggies, and heavy on the simple carbohydrates.

I think you've got a good plan in place for slowly weaning yourself off of Dr. Pepper. Drinking only water throughout the day and limiting your caffeine intake can really help to manage your overall caloric intake :)

Good luck and let us know how it goes!

Thanks for your input. I know my food plan might not sound very good but I am going to it from daily fast food and a 2 liter of soda a day with no water. After I cut soda completely and get use to not having fast food I plan to change the above food plan and workout routine. I figure just enough exercise to help retain muscle during weight lose and focus on working into a diet that will be easy to stick to.

In that case, then your plan above is quite an improvement. As long as you're taking in fewer calories than before and adding in consistent exercise, then you've got a great start! Keep it up for a while, then if you're not seeing any weight loss, you'll have to reduce your overall intake slightly, add more exercise, or a combination of both.

Keep posting and let us know how things are going!

I started this roughly a week ago and for two days now I been soda free. Only thing I drink is water and our scale is saving I lost six pounds. Could this be water lose or maybe because my insulin is dropping since I take in way less sugar?

weighted myself when I got up and I'm at 148.5. Cutting soda and fast food has shown a big difference already. Still having headaches from no soda. Strength still seems to be up. I help father in law change a tire on his riding lawn mower. Lifting the back end up where the engine is felt like a 400lb dead lift lol. Didn't make me sore either. Well just in my bad knee.

Good for you for sticking with it so far. If you've been cutting out lots of sugar and fast food recently, then it could be water weight or a combination of some water weight and actual body mass. Either way, it's not a bad thing, so keep it up :)

So I'm a little confused now. I weighted 146 yesterday morning so I figured a glass of chocolate milk (Nesquick) would be okay with dinner. Woke up this morning, emptied my bowls, and now I weight 148.

Your weight can fluctuate by a few pounds from day to day, which is why it's typically not recommended to weigh yourself daily. It can start to drive you crazy... Once a week is usually what I would recommend. So don't worry too much about a 2 pound fluctuation.
