My success with my own hybrid "negative calorie food"/Cabbage soup diet!

I have never posted to a forum in my life but I had such great success with my diet I had to share. I googled different diets till I came across the negative calorie diet. After reading numerous forums about the concept I also stumbled across a nurse who told of a negative calorie soup fed to patience that were to obese for surgery. The soup appeared to basically be what we all know is the cabbage soup diet... Anyways. I combined these to diets with extreme success. Im a male who is 28 years old. Starting weight 216.

Without going through all the details that you can find on the web here is what i did.

First I make a HUGE pot of negative calorie soup!

Recipe I use:

1 head of cabbage

1 bag of carrots

2 packages of sliced mushrooms

2 bunches of celery

8 medium tomatoes

1 12oz package frozen green beans (or broccoli)

1 large yellow onion

6 boullian cubes or more...

seasonings

Prep: Dice everything up, throw in massive soup pot and bring to boil. Once boiling for about 10 minutes I drop the heat and let it simmer for 3-4 hours... Makes me like 10 servings(5 days lunch and dinner)

Breakfast and snacks are anything off the negative calorie list! I eat apples and oranges for breakfast and snacks are carrots and other fruits on the list!

Lunch and dinner are always the soup!

Weekly plan:

Days 1-4 Negative calorie foods and soup only!

Days 5,6,7- Add a chicken or fish serving at dinner

REPEAT! :)

Anyways, the result was I dropped 10 pounds in the first 6 days and then lost .8-1 pound per day EVERYDAY after that. I quit the diet after I got down to 196 only because too many birthdays and holidays were around to continue it...but here is the catcher... Ive been off the diet for 1 full month and didnt gain back a pound! Granted I did continue to eat negative calorie foods as often as i could but still did eat my fair share of junk food and drinking alcoholic beverages. THAT is why I felt the urge to tell people of my success is because its the first diet I have done that the weight didnt come right back after quiting. And it in general made me start eating better! Im starting the diet again today so wish me luck and good luck to all of you!

There are no negative calorie foods. That's a myth. You lost weight because you lowered your calorie intake (and deprived your body of a few essentials). It's not something that is recommendable as a long-term way of losing weight.

Im well aware its a myth but it is a good list of the healthier fruits and veggies. The diet im on works. I was never hungry and the diet does work long term for the fact I gained no weight back. This is why I wanted to post my REAL results due to all the forums I came across in my search for a diet had nothing but a bunch of ignorant people who never tried the diet in question just wanted to bad mouth the theory... Thanks for the response though, glad someone read it :)

Diet update! Week One complete and I lost 10 pounds! Down from 205.2 Lbs to 195 Lbs! I'll post again next week and see how much comes off in week two! :) Very pleased with this diet!

I'm curious how this is going for you. I've done all sorts of "quick weight loss" diets and only had the pounds come right back. I've even fasted for a full week. Lost 15 lbs and gained it right back in a couple of days.

Ive lost an additional few pounds since my last update. Im down to 193. My weight loss would be faster but i have been having a hard time at work and have been drinking far too many beers. lol, but im still slowly losing on this plan with drinking a six pack a night (not recomended, lol)... NOW, let me tell you that when I went off this diet the first time I tried it I DID NOT gain any of the weight back. The diet has changed me where im naturally reaching for a banana or a cheese stick at my morning stop at a gas station instead of a sausage biscuit. When I was off the diet I behaved for breakfast and lunch and then literally ate whatever I wanted for dinner (and drank alot of beer). No weight gain. It truly is my most successful diet. Rapid weight loss and can be maintained easily afterwards but will take discipline. If ya quit and just go back eating whatever certainly the weight would come back. I hope any of this is helpful and good luck!
