My Story

I guess I just meant, eating more than normal of somethings that I wouldn't normally eat, like nachos or something.

I still stay away from the really bad stuff :)

Ahh the memories...

the memories of the stomach aches and that hellish bloated feeling...I don't miss that :) I do miss the taste though...

Don't forget the hating yourself afterwards. :)

I belive in being able to eat anything in this lifestyle but there are some things i used to eat in such quantities that no person should ever eat.

If I want something I will allow myself to have it, what I find is that it doesn't taste as good as I remember.

Ah the hating yourself, nothing like a good self loathing to get you going...

Self loathing is what I live for!

I bounce my calories around between 1500 to 2000 and that seems to keep my metabo guessing. I still eat whatever I want also.

Our leptin, a powerful hormone which is created by our fat, governs aspects of our metabolism and hunger. When we eat more, our leptin levels increase and our brain finds us full and the leptin perks up our metabolism, when we eat little, our leptin levels drop, we start obsessing about food or feel hungry more often, and our metabolism (I believe we have a short term and long term metabolism though I cant expain the difference) starts to slow down. Once we eat more the leptin levels increase again and the metabolism perks up more etc. I'm not a scientist so I hope I explained that right, but you get the gist.

Thanks Blancita, that does make sense to me.

Do you guys find that certain things that you used to enjoy do not taste as good? For example, one of my 'secret' things to do would be to buy a can of frosting and eat it. Maybe not all at once but a lot of it. Now, if I have frosting, it leaves a harsh sugary taste in my mouth and it is nowhere near as enjoyable as it used to be.

Am I alone here?

OH MY GOSH!!!!!!! Your are the first person that Ive found that has that happen too!!!! No one understood what I meant when I said I would get an awful taste in my mouth after eating something with a lot of sugar!!!!!!

I believe she is referring to eating more than she normally does but still remaining in a caloric deficit.
I do not know the science behind it but have heard of this happening too many time to dismiss it.

This is exactly what I was meaning. Eating more calories than I am used to eating, not more calories than what my body needs after taking into consideration all of my expenditures.

My mom said she was going to try out this calorie switching diet thing going back and forth from 1200 to 1600 to 1800 to 1200 or whatever. I don't think she's actually started though.

I have actually heard that something like that works. You need to be disiplined though otherwise you will always stay on the high end.
Me /= disiplined so we shall not be trying that anytime soon.:)

Sorry for the misunderstanding. She said specifically not counting, so i was under the impression that it wasn't necessarily in reference to remaining within a caloric deficit.

Another post I totally missed - crap I must be slipping :)

I am really the first person you have found who has that happen to them?

Add that to the list ;)
