My road to being lighter :)

Well I haven't really been around lately. Pretty much stayed around the same weight. I had a mini challenge of being under 210 lbs by march 1 and I weight my self today (March 3) and I am 208.8 lbs.

That's makes me feel really great that I actually meet my goal. I have updated my mini goal to be 195 lbs by April 21 (which is when this semester at school is done).

Now the last couple of days I have been sick (with a cold) and that may be why I lost weight (even though I ate like crazy, I have never been sick and so hungry, lol). I want to build upon this weight lost and keep moving foward.

Just found (and read through) your diary. Looks like we started out at the same spot and want to get to the same point. ^_^

From what I read, it seems you struggle with making healthy food choices. It's hard, I know. One thing that helps me is whenever I get a craving (or want seconds, or don't want to exercise, whatever) is I take a minute and think about what is more important to me. Would I rather lose the weight and be slim and healthy or would I rather eat that pizza? A majority of the time, that's enough to make me make the right choice.

I also agree with having a planned free day. If you know you'll get to eat something that would normally be off limits in a few days, you'll be less tempted to have it during the week. I get mine for every 10 pounds I lose, but I know a lot of people do them once a week. Just don't go crazy. ;)

Is there any room in your 50 pound backpack for some healthy snacks? Maybe some fruit or a sandwich? That might help keep your calories up on those busy days without having to eat fast food.

Also, do you weigh yourself at the same time of day and in the same clothes? I was really frustrated week ago to find I had gained .8 pounds. But I realized this morning that I had weighed myself in my pj's instead of my workout clothes as usual. I weighed them both and my workout clothes weigh .8 pounds more then my pj's! Some of your weight "gains" might not be gains at all.

Good luck to you! You've made great progress so far! :waving:

Wow you are doing great. I know when life get busy and stressful it is hard to keep up, but just look at all the hard work you have done so far, you can't give up now! It's ok to fall off the wagon just keep jumping back on it!!!!!!!
I find that if I weight myself once a week always in the morning of the same day I get less stressed I could never weight myself on a daily bases too much fluctuation, to each their own!!!!!

LOL, I've never been sick and hungry ever! At least you could eat though, that's good! Good job on making your mini goal and good luck with your next!

I feel good that I made my mini goal and have been able to stay under it for a whole week now :)

I can't wait to pass 208.6 lbs. This is the weight I got stuck on last time and now I still haven't passed it BUT, I know I can.

I haven't been back to the gym since I jumped back on the wagon but, I now have a tredmill so, I hope I can find the power to use it :)

You'll make it under that weight for sure! Just pop on that treadmill, maybe put it where there's a tv so if you like a tv show, just use the treadmill at the same time and it'll help ya get through it, hehe.

I went on my tredmill on sunday during the day and boy did I work up a sweat. I use to be able to do a full hour in the gym but, where I have it, it is warm and I only did 1/2 hour (plus I'm still a little congested from being sick). I'm thinking I should move a fan near it, to help cool me down and go longer.

I have been off school for 2 weeks and I'm on my way out the door, after I finish my breakfast. I have packed a good lunch and I hope I am not tempted by the caf food, lol. But, I am starting my health and nutrition class today, so hopefully that helps. Mind you it is for the health and nutrition of a child lol but, it's not much different for an adult.

Hello

It looks like you are doing great!!!! Having a treadmill at home is a great idee i agree with Ritzy that having it in front of the TV might help you get longer workouts, I find that exercising while I watch tv helps me resist all to nasty junk food commercial because who what to eat something not healthy when they are working out, also I temd to work out longer when I am watching tv times goes by faster!

Just popping in to say that you are doing great! Doesn't it feel good to lose that first 10 pounds? I'm jealous of your treadmill too. Our apartment complex has an exercise room with a treadmill (in a different building from ours), but it's just not the same as being able to do it in your own home.

Keep it up! :hurray:

Finally pushed passed my "wall" weight. Not much, lol only .3 lbs but, it feels great that I pushed passed it. I haven't been this low in *thinks* .... I guess in over 5 years, ... since I meet my husband, lol.

My weight loss is going really slow but, I haven't really been exercising. I am just so busy with school and what not it is hard but, I need to stop making excuses and get moving -.-

Good job on pushing past that point! That's not an easy task for sure :) This week I've been slacking on the exercise so my meager weight loss I know is my own fault. I just hate it when you try really hard and you have a crappy weight loss! lol... Anyways, lets bump it up this week and have some good results next week! :D

Now that you are past your wall you have to work even harder!!! Life is always busy if it's not school it's work or kids!!!! Just write down your worouts as you would an appointment that has worked out for me for a couple of weeks!!!!

BLAH, soooooo, I really haven't been watching what I eat or exercising and I gained 2 lbs this week :(

I have been pretty depressed lately. I am moving into my final last couple weeks of school and I have either a test or an assignment due everyday and it has me stressing out which is not good.

Well at least school is almost over!

I hope you don't give up now, as you can still obtain your weight loss goals.

Maybe refocusing on not gaining weight for the next couple of weeks will be easier than focusing on the actual weight loss? Or maybe you can turn your stress into extra work out time to step away from schoolwork, if even for less then an hour.

Perhaps having a motivational buddy would be helpful? I don;t want to see you fail, you started out so strong and I know if you believe in yourself like you say you do, you'll lose the weight!

Thanks for the advice Kayshiz. This semester is almost over but, I plan on going through school in the summer so I will be in school till the end of the year, lol.

I'm not to worried about gaining weight because my body usually goes up and down 2-3 lbs all the time. I feel great that I have lost almost 20 lbs since I got married (and 10 of the pounds are from this year alone) but, I know I am sooooo far from where I should be.

Not at all. You are doing great! If you feel like you are to far away from the goals you set, rethink and reset them. Maybe taking your April goal down to 200 pounds, or giving yourself til the end of April to get to the 195 will help you not feel so far off from what you set to accomplish.

You will be under 200 in no time! You are so close and will feel fantastic when you hit it.

You can do anything you set your mind too. If you are able to loose weight during stressful and busy times you are going to be able to maintain at any time......Work out are a great stress releif!!!

Congrats on being down your first 10 pounds! I hope everything is still going well for you!

Well, I gained a bunch back because, well I stopped caring. Ate fast food all the time and junk but, once again I am starting over.

My husband also said he will watch his weight as well so hopefully that will help.
