My Progress log.

No vest. I use ankle weights. 20lbs total (10lbs per leg).

Took some pics tonight of the legs. I just realized how effin hard it is to take pics of legs. I also noticed how little people show their legs, so here are mine.

Now mind you, these are legs that haven't been "properly" worked because of my rear thigh injury. Just lightly tooling around on a BMX. So, it's looking actually a lot more undefined than usual...oh well. Something I gotta learn I guess.

And yes, biking has really effed up my shins and knees. After that one big one, which, has actually healed pretty well, as at time of injury, it was literaly HALF the length of my shin, I now wear shin guards. Shoulda got stitches, but I'm stubborn.

Full body shots so you can see proportion (unflexed) :

Opinions on my progress?

It's hard as hell to take good pics. I can get a pretty large dent in my forearm by my elbow, but it doesn't seem so when photo'd.

My chest and shoulders have started to slow down, and it seems my arms have started growing now. Probably all the biking. Forearms are getting ripped too...

No puffing up and swelling up my upper, or flaring out my lats. Just slightly flexing my arms and slightly contracting my core so I can get an accurate view of things.

Here's a back shot...looks to be pretty much the same as far as cut goes, but larger. You be the judge.

Although I've hit a plateau, I'm still fairly satisfied. It sucks that the progress isn't as quick as it was when I started, but I'm still pretty happy. The shoulder has started limiting me as well. Not much really, but I don't push as hard, I can tell. The biking has been taking care of my core, so I've been hitting it pretty lightly. It's also shedding off my body fat, so it's making me more cut, which I'm pretty stoked about as well.

Well, today was the end of my "rest period" from my injured shoulder. Sucky.

Anyways, since I'm having to restart after like a 3 week break, here are some pics to kinda get myself back on track. No puffing out, or positioning, just snapping a pic, all flexing except the last where I'm just standing there. I really dig my back...I'm really surprised at how well my body maintained considering the break. I did however do a bunch of cardio, but I can definitely tell my overall strength has dropped in those 3 weeks time. Oh yeah, back to the pics:

I want to get my chest bigger. Everything seems to be getting larger, except my chest... this body is my goal:

Maybe I need to take some pics all wet or sweaty and see how far off I really am

I like your body WAAAAY better than your goal pic.

Seriously, you're ripped enough. It's easy enough to put a little extra muscle on the pecs.

But the guy in that pic looks a little gaunt. Most women like a little more meat on their guy ... don't go too far the other way just because the fashion industry has models that look like that ;)

So if I was choosing between you and the pic, it would be you every time!!

MUCH THANKS!!!!

I guess because I've always been skinny, and lean, but I know I don't want to be large. I want to be bigger, but not huge. IMO, this guy is a bit on the large side:

But this is nice:

As you can see, my goals aren't even unreasonable. I like remaining limber and staying lean. I could really care less about being large, just a good size. More or less, the look I'm after, I want to be the byproduct of being strong and fit. Pretty much like a gymnast, lol.

How's the training going? I started doing push ups where my feet are elevated and I'm surprised at how much harder that is than doing them normally. What's your diet looking like now?

Both those guys look really good to me. They are just built differently.

Gymnasts have wicked physiques, oicdn! But not all of them are super ripped. Take a look at some vids of male gymnasts:

That guy in the 2nd link is fookin HUGE. Ideally, the 2nd pic I posted is where I would like to be by the summer. Getting the beach muscles ready, lol. I think I can do it, but I have to ease back into working out because of my shoulder, and I think that's going to be my biggest hindrance. Well, that and biking and work. :p I want to get there, and getting there by Summer means, I've been at this for one year....

My diet has suffered a bit lately, but I also haven't been working out, just riding my bike. Realistically, it's been just calorie, carb and protein loading. I've found those single serving DiGiorno Pizzas have 410 calories, 39g of protein, and I can't remember the carbs, but it's pretty high. It's usually my pre and post ride meal since it has a dece amount of protein and calories. I ran out of shake mix, so I haven't been drinking shakes, but then again, I haven't been working out. I need to start getting back into my groove. But my shoulder has me a little freaked.

Yeah, some gymnasts have quite huge upper bodies. You don't want to be dragging around a lot of weight from the waist down ... it just makes things tougher.

How is the shoulder doing anyway?

I've got some soreness in it. The feeling is comparable to the feeling of when you jam your finger, and there's that sharp pain that's always there, but it's not the same sharp pain as when it was initially jammed/injured. I'm taking it easy, but today is my routine day. I think since there's less stress on the shoulder than incline and weighted push-ups, I'm going to do some pullups today....

Pulled the earth down a couple times yesterday....felt like I was starting all over as far as a fatigue POV. My muscles didn't seem to have the endurance they had before, but the first few were strikingly easy since my muscles were pretty much completely healed from working out(only soreness due to biking). The soreness in my shoulder sucks.

In anybody's opinion, how does my back look? I really have no idea whether or not it's in proportion as to where I should be or what. Is it lacking?

Back pics:

What areas(not just my back) do I need to start focusing more on????

Everything else:

Thanks in advance!

Been extremely tired as of late working LONG days, then everybody wanting to go ride bikes after work. Stupid holiday season. So today was the 1st day back on the routine since my last update:mad:

Unfortunately, this is just the beginning as it will only be getting worse the closer Christmas comes.

But, the biking has done a number to my lats and ribs, lol. I'm sore almost everyday and am seeing improvements. The muscles between my back are also mad sore. All the rowing motions for hopping around are doin a number on me. Also, look at my arms in the 1st two pics. Pretty sweet improvement (for me, nothing for many of you) in my biceps. Everything seems to be getting cut pretty well.

Here's some pics:

On the very last set of abs below my belly button, there's a patch of fat that I can't seem to get rid of. I've been riding 3-5 hours per day after work (intense cardio) and it just won't burn off!!!!

Will get some leg pics up, but I need to reshave my legs, lol. I will be seeing some MAJOR gains there soon as I will be commuting to work. I have to go over 2 fairly large bridges (2 flyovers and one bridge), and one small bridge. It's 12 miles to work so 24 miles a day, 5 times a week of biking going over bridges should definitely work up the legs. Oh, and I'll be on a SINGLE SPEED. So there will be no cheating by going to a lower gear, hahaha.

You're ripped!

And you've got a sexy smile ... and those dark eyes ... KILLER!

You've got it all going on and then some ;)

Now what's your next goal?

:luxlove::love3:

Haha, thanks! My next goal is I'm trying to get my chest built up. I feel it's a little small. Maybe get my lats a little more flared? I dunno, I just want to get slightly bigger, like the guy on the pommel horse, lol. I know I don't want to be a man beast large, but I do want some more LEAN mass.

I also want to get rid of that tiny fat pouch right below my belly button. I have no idea how I'm going to get rid of it, but that's also a goal. As small as it is, it bothers me...dunno why.

I think the camera makes me look larger than I am, and not as cut. As weird as that sounds. I look in the mirror during those shots, and see way more definition that doesn't show in pics...or maybe I'm just delusional, haha.

Lookin to hear for some suggestions on my progress, and what areas "need work". I know all of me needs some work, but anything a more trained eye can spot out???

Now I have no excuses.

On the way back from our exploring downtown, a wall we were both trying to get up earlier that night but never did my buddy pointed out and said "wanna do one last try?" Instead of answering I just went for it, ended up tapping the wall a little too early, combined with being exhausted and the dreaded "last go before we dip out" caused a bar and stem in my gut, foot slipping off the pedals and somehow do this:

That picture does absolutely no justice to how gnarly it looks. My toenail was pointing at my kneecap. I tried to snap it back down, but the pain prevented me from doing so, and it probably never would have. Sucks. And hurts. And that picture is after clipping off as much as I could before writhing in pain from the nail being flexed right before the clipper cut it.

Also, on the day before Turkey day, I bought a pull-up bar for my house. The kind that screws into the door and supports 400lbs. I had to go a block or so away to the school by my house and goto the football goal post and track to do my routine...now that I have a jacked up toe, I have to stay off the bike and can dedicate 6ish solid weeks of training to my upper body.

The part that really sucks? I just bought a new roadbike, that arrives sometime this upcoming week that I was going to train my legs on. Got my shoes, pedals, helmet, gps, all ready and waiting for the bike to arrive, and now this. Clipless pedals, riding long distances, and injured toes don't mesh together well, so it looks like I'll be out of the saddle for for at the very least, until Christmas.

Been kinda preoccupied with a new relationship. Honestly, been absolute BLISS the past couple weeks. I've never felt this way about another person in my whole life, and that's not just the "new relationship" talking...

ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS, and absolutely the greatest person I've ever met. I seriously, feel like I have won the damn lottery...

So pardon the slacking....I'm busy being head over heels about another person.

Finally an update. I've gotten back to getting back in my routine again, sort of. Lots of distractions, and been way busy with a new roadbike and whatnot. I also have an AMAZING significant other finally around. Happiest I've been in AGES.

Anyways, here's some progress after taking about a 1 month break in my routine.

Relaxed:

Core flexed:

Lats and ribs:

I haven't been as strict on my diet or routine since around Thanksgiving with the work schedule and meeting the most amazing woman ever (lol). But, when I do work out, they're quality. Kinda like when you ride a bike, if you don't have much time, make it QUALITY miles.

It was a nice little break. I feel like it kinda killed the plateau I was at.

Opinions much appreciated, positive or negative!

I think I've finally reached my goal. I've been working hard lately, putting in a ton of hours at work, as well as moving into a new house and getting everything straight and renovating.

I can't seem to get the pictures to do myself justice (is that conceited or self-delusional???) and show my progress. The following pics seem to be not much different than the last update, but I can for sure feel the strength difference as well actually SEE it, but not in the pics:bncry:

My weight is a steady 160 now, whereas before it was 150-155 fluctuating and there wasn't really anything behind it. The 160 feels like a SOLID 160lbs now. I could stand to gain MAYBE 10 more pounds of mass, but have grown to love and appreciate the lean-ness build I have. I've found that people struggle to get the build I have, but can easily pound on weight, so I've grown to really appreciate it. Not only that, but it's FUNCTIONAL muscle.

Anyways, here we go.

Thoughts? Critisism? Don't hold back, I really need to hear your thoughts and opinions!!!!
