Thanks for the replies, everyone.
I'm male, 25 years of age and 5'7 (170cm). I feel comfortable with eating below 1200 cals a day, but since I've read online that it can backfire and will force my body to actually store more fat, I decided to bump my intake to 1300, maybe pushing 1400. Many sources don't recommend consuming less than 1500 a day, but I think there are a lot of factors in play here, such as that my daily routine is very sedentary, unfortunately.
I do some weight lifting for 45 minutes every other day, on some upper body muscles, focusing on arms and my back. And I do cardio exercises, in a form of walking for about three hours, 2-3 days a week. I realize that this isn't much, which is why I try to keep my caloric deficit as high as possible, without actually doing harm instead. There seems to be a fine line between a healthy diet and a harmful one, and I think I'm right on the edge right now.
However, I don't feel hungry and my diet doesn't seem intense to me, what I did is I stopped eating all ice cream, chocolate, any sweets, cheese and I only drink water and green tea. Once I started counting calories, it no longer feels worth it to eat that chocolate bar after a meal if it means getting fatter along with it.
I plan to (though we all know that planning isn't doing) to have one intense cardio day a week, perhaps walking rapidly for 6-7 hours.
