I weigh 96kg, my ideal weight is about 68kg, so I've got about 30kg to lose. Before I became pregnant with my daughter, I was 80kg, and I suspect that I'm pregnant again, but this time I want to do it right and keep up with the healthy eating and exercise while pregnant. I'm not going to go hard out and try to lose weight until the baby is born, but I would like to avoid the excess body fat that I gained last time. My theory is that if I keep healthy throughout pregnancy, it will be easier to lose the weight afterwards.
My main issue is with food, I'm a food addict. I've been to OA and I took some really good things away from it, but it's not something that I'm going to continue with. The meetings are too far away and inconvient for me. I've bought a few books that I'm working through on binge eating and food addiction.
My short term goals, during pregnancy, are less about kilos and more about sticking to a food plan to ensure I get enough nutrients without binging on junk food. I write up my plan every night before bed, then I keep a diary listing my actual food so I can hold myself accountable if I cheat. Exercise is a challenge for me, because I have a small toddler who is very demanding of my time and attention (she tends to throw tantrums if I try to exercise) and the fact that I live in a tiny town with no where to walk (we have 3 streets) and while I don't mind walking on the open road, I can't take the stroller with me. I miss walking so much! I do have a couple of exercise DVD's, but only one that I can keep up with and it's become excrutiatingly boring! I'm trying to find something practical, but I'm struggling. I use to love going to the gym, but I can't anymore as there are none locally here, and all the others in the district don't have childcare services.
Anyway, thats my situation. I'm going to start a weight loss diary tomorrow and see how it goes.
I look forward to getting to know some of you
Jen
