One more time

I am going to start dieting and working out ONE MORE TIME. I have been through this so many times with great results and then one or a few of life's little sidetracks comes along and Bam, I'm a fat chick again. I hate it. I have a super over loaded life with 2 jobs and school full time. I delegate when possible but am recovering from the crash of the mortgage market, relocating, new marriage to a wonderful man with teenagers, starting over literally. Your advice is appreciated. If I don't respond right away just be patient, I will come up for air soon enough.

Hello and welcome! Sounds like you have alot on your shoulders, but if you set your mind to it you can do anything... even avoid life getting in the way of your goals.

The people here are so great. You will find all the support and motivation you need to help reach those goals.

Good luck,
MissD

Wow, and I thought MY life was busy! I understand how stress can mess with a diet! But at least you don't have time to get bored and overeat! Right? Lol, yeah, I know, it's never that cut and dried. Anyhoo, welcome and much success. I'm new here too and looking forward to taking the journey with everyone.

"I think I can, I think I can"....

"Newbie" here, too. Well, at least to this forum! Definitely NOT to getting in shape!! I'm glad I found this forum. I haven't had much time to read through much but it does seem to be very supportive. WHICH IS WHAT I NEED!!!!

I'm 37, mother of four, part-time RN on a stressful medical floor, and fatter than ever!!! Ironically, when I'm not pregnant or recovering from pregnancies, I'm in pretty good shape. I've been eating healthy and working out for eighteen years. But my 3rd and 4th pregnancies really did a number on me. My kids' ages range from 8yrs to six months and instead of having my usual 15 pounds to lose, I'm stuck with 45 lbs to lose!! Again!!!

Now my greatest obstacle is my mental block. Something in the back of my mind is saying,"Why keep trying to lose it? It'll just come back!!"

We're done having kids so no more pregnancies to contend with. I just so much would finally like to get to the "maintain" stage. Plus, the planning and effort involved in reaching my goal weight is tremendous. I have the discipline but the time constraints are huge!! I also have to workout at home vs a gym due to child and financial restraints.

HOWEVER.....I am going to persevere!! And I will be victorious!! Even if it is the 500th attempt!! It certainly is better than the alternative!!!

Thanks for listening and I will certainly depend on the wisdom and support I've already seen here!!!

So..... here goes! And to the OP......we can DO IT!!!!

Hi One more time,

Welcome! My "one more time" was the Zone diet. That was over 13 years ago. It turned out to be my "one last time". I did the plate method of the Zone, lost 100 pounds the first 1 1/2 yrs, and have kept it off ever since! It's a very balanced diet, easy to do, lots of delicious food and you're never hungry. My whole family's been eating this way for years now. It fits in well with my busy lifestyle. It's great! :coolgleamA:

Hey, OneMoreTime,

I didn't mean to hijack your post with my own sob story!! I'm not terribly savvy when it comes to forums. Sorry!!!

Now my greatest obstacle is my mental block. Something in the back of my mind is saying,"Why keep trying to lose it? It'll just come back!!"
If you adjust your mindset from a diet - to a lifestyle change and really believe it... then the weight won't come back... spend time reading the stickied threads and use that info to put together a plan that you can stick with forever - one that allows you your favorite foods, and doesn't leave youf eeling deprived
