The name is Gary, from Texas. I am 21 and new to the forum. The most I weighed was 378. I started going to the gym just to release anger from issues in the past and as of today weigh 325. I don't see losing 50 lbs as a great accomplishment because I want more...I was a 46 at the waist and now 38. oh yeah I am 6'3''.

Welcome, Gary!
50 pounds is a great start...you should be proud! How much more would you like to lose?

Good luck on your journey!

heya gary, welcome to the forum...sounds like your off to a great start! and congrats on the weightloss so far! i can kinda relate coz i started at 350 and now at 317. i TOTALLY know where your coming from when you say that you find it hard to see your weight loss so far as an accomplishment....but you need to try as much as possible to get out of that mode of thinking and instead look at what you've accomplished so far and be proud of it, just keep taking one day at a time. i know for people our size we still have a looong way to go but i always think starting out is the hardest part, and we're still standing...so lets just keep on truckin till we get to our goal weights. WE CAN DO THIS! all the best xoxo

PS: are you a fan of dave chappelle? coz i'm kinda curious to know how you picked your username...lol! in chappelle's words...."i'm rick james bleep".... lol!

Yeah, I am a big fan of the show! Your right, I had a big issue not wanting to go to the gym and now I can't live without visiting the gym. Congrats on your loss. It can be hard sometimes, but I can honestly say I feel a lot better plus from a 48 to a 38 on the waist, I can't complain.

Hey Gary. I like to party too, that is probably a big part of my weight gain. I have a weakness for going out and having a good time which usually involves good food and lots o' booze.
Recently I told my friends that I will be out partying a lot less, they've actually been very cool with it and have actually volunteered to work out with me instead of indulging in gluttonous evenings. Do you have a supportive group of friends? Are you worried about losing your party guy status?

I am the same way... I go out after the bar at 2 am we hit up the the greasy food places. beer and late night dinner is my reason in weight gain. I go out but I only drink vodka and any juice. I don't go out as much also. To be honest I lost a couple of friends bc I don't go out. I see it like this- I save a lot of money, get healthy, and staying away from trouble. I can never lose my reputation of being the party guy! I will admit I will go out 3 times out of the month and have a great time. I just stay away from late night dinner. I think it's hard when your favorite drink is a bluemoon. I created a goal and I tend on accomplishing it, we will party after!!!!
