:D Yay for 111.1! Losing a kilo a week is actually the normal, healthy way of doing things. Losing too much, too quickly for too many weeks after another you will have more trouble keeping the weight afterwards so maybe it´s a good thing that things are slowing down a bit. You´re still doing awesome.

Thanks!
These days I'm trying to increase the distance of power walking but I could only walk around 4.2km.

First of all, you're doing GREAT.

Second of all, the human body can be quite the bitch. You keep a routine and work hard every week - you put in the same effort day in and day out - you lose a good amount of weight for a few weeks in a row - THEN...nothing. There's always that one week here and there where the scale doesn't seem to move. Why? Nobody can really tell, but that's just life.

The truth is, the scale might not move sometimes for a number of reasons - your body could be holding onto to excess water weight, your body just might be tired and storing some of those calories instead of burning them, you could be building muscle which weighs more than fat, for some reason your metabolism might've slowed down a little, etc. There's a ton of reasons why we all have those weeks where our weight doesn't go down (and trust me, we ALL have those weeks), but try not to let it discourage you.

Hell, ask my wife - she'll tell you about how frustrating it can be when the scale doesn't budge. She'll bust her butt for a week or two, eat right and exercise, and lose five or six pounds. Then, she'll do the same exact thing for the next week or two but not lose a single pound. Then, she'll have a cheat day, eat some pizza and have some ice cream aaaaand? She'll lose three pounds the following morning, HAHAHA. It's just life. It's frustrating but it happens...to everyone. So, don't let it discourage you. Just keep doing what you're doing.

Thanks!
Last week I did more exercises on the home gym so there is a small chance that I might be building muscle. I'm really concerned about my BMI which stands at 31.4 which is Obese. I need to be at 102kg to be Over weight. I never thought that I'll be so happy and eager to be over weight.

Hi Hypercool!

Good to see how much progress you are making! 10 kg in 55 days is amazing! Btw we are the same height (I am also around 1.88 m tall).

Don't worry if your weight loss is slowing down, it is only natural that it will slow down. The best weight loss range for your health is 0.5 - 1 kg, and this is probably where you land (I think it's fine if you are initially above this).

Personally, I care most about shifting to a healthy lifestyle (eating/drinking/exercise habits), and I see weight loss as an inevitable result from this. I try not to care how fast it is going, but I am not losing at all, it is a sign that I have to further improve my lifestyle. The advantage of this approach is that my weight loss will be sustainable. Taking my time and learning to appreciate/enjoy this new lifestyle are really helfpul for that.
The trade-off for this approach is that it will take me a longer time to lose weight, but I am willing to pay that price. I'd rather be patient and lose this weight for the rest of my life, than have a much higher risk of it coming back (perhaps even in a few months, as happens to a lot of people).

Not saying that's you. But it's good to think about this stuff.

Anyways, well done man! Keep on going!

Thanks!
I need to lose around 23kg total so 1kg per week is not so bad. At this pace I might be able to reach my goal within 6-7 months.

Initial Weight (Date: Sep 24 2016)

Weight - 121kg(266.7lbs)

Used to eat around 2500 - 3000 Calories per day and didn't do any exercise.

Date: Sep 30 2016

Weight - 120kg(264.5lbs)

Lost 1kg(2.2lbs) in 7 Days.
Last week I ate ~1200 Calories and Power Walked 2km - 3km(1.2 - 1.8miles) daily.

Date: Oct 07 2016

Weight - 118.5kg(261.2lbs)

Lost 1.5kg(3.3lbs) in 7 Days.
Last week I ate more (1500 - 1800 Calories) and Power Walked more (4km/~2.5miles daily).

Date: Oct 18 2016

Weight - 116.7kg(257.3lbs)

Lost 1.8kg(3.9lbs) in 11 Days.
To be honest I wasn't fully active for the last 6 days because I was very busy with work (Sitting on a chair front of a PC for 12+ hours per day). I tried to control my weight through diet. So during the last 6 days I only ate around 1500 Calories per day.

Date: Oct 24 2016

Weight - 114.9kg(253.3lbs)

Lost 1.8kg(3.9lbs) in 6 Days.

Same diet plan as last week but this time I lost the same amount in 6 days. I think it's because I ate around 1800 Calories and burned around 200 - 300 Calories through exercise.

Date: Nov 03 2016

Weight - 113.8kg(250.9lbs)

Lost 1.1kg(2.4lbs) in 10 Days.

Another busy week. I really thought that I must have gain weight because I couldn't stick to the diet plan and I had to eat junk food a couple of times and also I could only exercise for 4 days last week. It is really hard to stick to a diet plan when you are busy specially when you live alone and don't have time to prepare any meals. I did my best to minimize the portion for each meal but couldn't keep track of the Calorie intake. Anyway I felt really happy today upon realising that I've lost 1.1kg.

Date: Nov 11 2016

Weight - 112.2kg(247.3lbs)

Lost 1.6kg(3.5lbs) in 8 Days.

Today I realised that I tend lose around 1.5kg- 1.8kg per every 7-10 days when I exercise along with dieting.

Date: Nov 18 2016

Weight - 111.1kg(244.9lbs)

Lost 1.1kg(2.4lbs) in 7 Days.

I don't know what happened here. I did exactly the same as the week before last week but I've only lost 1.1kg. I really thought that I'll be in the 110kgs this week.
But I'm a bit exited that my weight is 111.1. I've been seeing 1111 more often than a regular person my whole life. May it be time, a number plate, bill, or in many other things and now my weight. I'm not superstitious but I've seen websites dedicated to seeing numbers specially 1111.

Date: Dec 2 2016

Weight - 107.4kg(236.7lbs)

Lost 2.5kg(5.5lbs) in 7 Days.

I really don't know what happened here but I'm really happy. I followed the same routine as always and managed to lose more. 1500 - 1800 Calories per day & 4km Power Walk on the treadmill followed by a 20 - 25 minutes homegym workout. I think the Lemon+Honey Drink and Turmeric+Ginger+Cinnamon+Pepper Drink that I take daily might be contributing as well. At this rate I might really be able to reach 100kg before New Year.

Conclusion
Lost a Total of 13.6kg(30lbs) in 69 Days

2.4 lbs is still great, 5.5 is *amazing*! But it definitely wouldn't be healthy to lose that much every week. Still: awesome job buddy.

Thanks! I think I got lucky this week otherwise how could I have lost considerably more while following the same diet plan and workout routine as always.

It has been 68 days since my last weight update. I wasn't able to continue with my diet plan and exercise routine for 2 months. All I could do was portion control. Today, I just started following the diet plan again and also walked for 5 km(3.1 miles) on the treadmill. However I was thrilled as soon as I measured my weight. During the last 68 days I've managed to lose 4kg(8.8lbs) just by portion control. Although I managed to lose 17.6kg(38.8lbs) during the full 138 days, I've only lost 5" inches off the waist. I honestly thought it would be more. Anyway now my waist is 40.5" inches and I hope it'll go down soon.

I still have to lose 18.4kg(40.5lbs) to reach my targeted weight. I really hope that I could achieve my goal within 6 months.

welcome back! good to see that you lost weight in the last 2 months, and a good amount!

don't worry about your waist difference... it will decrease faster when you lose more. Think of your bodylike an onion... every layer that you peel off is smaller. So, the waist difference for your last kgs will make a lot more visible difference than your first kgs.

Also, and I find this hard as well, but I can advice you to focus on the process, on making long term changes to your lifestyle (as you have done to a good degree already :)). As you see, a good routine produces results. Improve your process continually. Learn to make changes to your diet and exercise routine, and not just changes that help you lose weight, but that also benefit you in other ways: general health, reducing stress, enjoyment, etc. The more benefits that you get out of your habits, the bigger the chance that you will stick with it.

Bottom line: focus on making long-term changes, and trust the process! :)

Sadly the belly fat is often last to go :( But very well done losing a further 4 kg despite being "off plan" for 2 months. That makes it sound like you'll do very well on maintenance later.

Hi, hypercool. I think it does auger well for you that you still managed to lose without feeling like you were "on plan". You are not far off the 90's. How good will that feel? I almost cried for joy when I went from 111kg to being in the 90's. I look forward to you hitting it too. You've got this :D

Thanks!
Yes, I understand but seeing a counselor is not possible for me at the moment. I'm going outside to the store and to visit family members and work only. What I don't do is go to places with large crowds and other life enjoying occasions. When I said I'm in a life or death situation, I meant my mom has diabetes and my dad has high cholesterol and high blood pressure but they are neither obese nor overweight. Also few family members from my mothers side have diabetes as well. So the chance seems to be high of me getting them as well. If I already had diabetes it's another thing but since I don't yet, I need to minimize the risk as soon as possible and everybody said losing weight by dieting is No 1 thing to do.

Could you please tell me what is recommended Calorie intake to lose weight? I thought it has to be less than 2000 and lower the better.

I mean to say by regular exercises and following a diet will help you lose weight and stay away from diabetic. As diabetic is a disorder not a disease.
If you increase your muscle and lower your fat % of your body, you can lower the chances of becoming diabetic.

Hi Gracy. Hypercool has not been in this diary for almost a year, so you probably won't get a reply. Welcome to the forum though :)

I know this person has not responded in like forever, but Hypercool, you really are an inspiration. I know you didn't think so as you went along with it, but you were really killing it as far as progress goes! Some people envy that type of progress. I hope you are at least maintaining, wherever you are.

Please know that I started a new diary and I will not be updating this diary further. If you are interested in my progress please refer to the link below. Thanks!

Hi & Thanks alia.danielle :waving: I'm not active in this thread because I started a new one not so long a go. My progress has become very slow due to work but I'm at least maintaining my weight and that is satisfactory at the moment.
