First of all; no preamble here - I will lose 100 pounds by the time I am done.

Currently 322 pounds. Hope to be down to 230 by 01-Dec-10.

Uh, beyond that, don't really know what to put in here. Guess I will start using it as a food diary tomorrow. If anyone has any tips on how to eat healthy while living out of a cafeteria, please let me know.

So, hi :seeya:

Woke up sore today; spent 15 minutes on the stair stepper last night at a pretty good clip followed by some light weight work.

Breakfast:
1 egg white, scrambled with bell peppers, onions, and jalapenos
3 pieces bacon
2 slices of 12 grain bread lightly buttered
9oz 2% Milk

Morning snack:
1/2 cup of spicy trail mix
32oz Water

Todays lunch is going to be interesting, its the worst day of the week in the cafeteria.

Sometimes all you can do is keep your portion sizes down depending on what choices you have.

Yep, thats what happens just about every day up here.

Lunch:
1 small hot link
side salad with half portion of dressing
8 onion rings
16oz Water

Dinner
Prime Rib (yes, our cafeteria serves Prime Rib every Sunday), portion size the same surface area as a deck of cards but half the thickness
Side Salad
4 deep fried shrimp
8oz 2% milk
16oz Water

Today is my rest day from the gym.

Another meal for small portions rather then other options:

Breakfast:
1 egg portion of the daily omlette - chili cheese today
2 pieces of bacon
1 cup cottage cheese w/ half cup peaches
8oz 2% milk
8oz water

Morning snack:

I've been there when I worked in Kuwait/Iraw for 4 years. I know EXACTLY what you are going through on a man camp. I think the first step of the mental battle, you have already accepted and started.

You might have success with adding more working out and movement in addition to the calorie control due to the type of food they serve. Focus and remember small changes = big success

Thank you, that is exactly what my plan is.

Lunch:
Small chef salad with kidney beans substituted for meat with half serving of dressing
1/2 bag of potato chips
8oz Water

Dinner:
1/2 slice of ham ~ 1/8" thick
1/4 serving of sweet potato fries
1/2 serving of cheese cake (I admit I shouldn't have had that)
8oz 2% milk
8oz water

15 minutes on the stair stepper
15 minutes on stationary bike

I am currently trying to figure out how to become more active while at work. It is normally in the -30°F range during my shift, so by company policy we don't spend much more then 15 to 20 minutes at a stretch out of the truck. Combine that with being stuck behind a computer for a large portion of the day as well as the only form of physical outlet being the cardio "room," it is a brain teaser.

A person can only walk through every hall of the mancamp so often before losing interest.

Also, something interesting has started happening again. After every meal, no matter how large or small, I feel nauseous. Used to happen all the time, but went away for a few years and now its back.

Hmm, have you talked to a doctor about it?

As far as trying to get cardio with your work world..I hate to suggest something so dull but how about just running in place for a bit before sitting at the computer? I don't know

I guess I suck just as bad at online diaries as I do at real ones :smash:

I've been working on doing something like 5 minutes on the eliptical for every hour on the computer. The cardio room is just down the hallway from my office.

Beyond that, I've started shifting to the treadmill from the eliptical. Feels like a much better workout, makes more places the good kind of sore.
