This is my first posting, but I’ve been reading this board for well over a year now. I’d like to finally share my journey with you!
I packed on the pounds over the years from eating junk and being on the road for business. Being 6’ 2” enabled me to hide the weight in clothes however when I hit 262lbs in Nov 06’ and with my 30th birthday coming up, I finally planned on doing something about it.
On January 9th 07’ I started the BodyRX program and followed it verbatim. The BodyRX program is a nutrition and weight training plan. The program follows six meals a day and requires four days a week in the gym while working out all the muscle groups. There isn’t much cardio involved as strength training burns more fat off and continues to burn calories after growing additional muscle. I did however add in cardio while jogging a few miles per week.
The nutritional part of the program requires all healthy foods, no fast foods, processed foods etc. I even had the discipline to cut out all soda and alcohol. You can cheat on the weekend but up until recently I never did.
I started at 262lbs and now weigh 195lbs. Below is a link to my progress:
If you’d like more info on the plan, check out bodyrx.com. I think the book is around $10 on Amazon.
I wanted to thank everyone on this forum for their stories of success and achievements. It definitely played a big role for my goal coming to fruition. The only bad side from this lifestyle change is the thousands of dollars I’ve had to spend on a new wardrobe!
Best of luck to all,
Howie
