My journey 262lbs - 195lbs

This is my first posting, but I’ve been reading this board for well over a year now. I’d like to finally share my journey with you!
I packed on the pounds over the years from eating junk and being on the road for business. Being 6’ 2” enabled me to hide the weight in clothes however when I hit 262lbs in Nov 06’ and with my 30th birthday coming up, I finally planned on doing something about it.

On January 9th 07’ I started the BodyRX program and followed it verbatim. The BodyRX program is a nutrition and weight training plan. The program follows six meals a day and requires four days a week in the gym while working out all the muscle groups. There isn’t much cardio involved as strength training burns more fat off and continues to burn calories after growing additional muscle. I did however add in cardio while jogging a few miles per week.

The nutritional part of the program requires all healthy foods, no fast foods, processed foods etc. I even had the discipline to cut out all soda and alcohol. You can cheat on the weekend but up until recently I never did.

I started at 262lbs and now weigh 195lbs. Below is a link to my progress:

If you’d like more info on the plan, check out bodyrx.com. I think the book is around $10 on Amazon.

I wanted to thank everyone on this forum for their stories of success and achievements. It definitely played a big role for my goal coming to fruition. The only bad side from this lifestyle change is the thousands of dollars I’ve had to spend on a new wardrobe!

Best of luck to all,:waving:

Holy Moly!!

Great job bro,,, I am super impressed! You could be a spokesperson for it. You can see how dedicated you are with the results. Way to go.!!!:hurray:

Dude awsome progress you showed though hard work and being determined anything is possible. Inspiring

You look great! You look like that one American Idol, Chris Daughtry.

Wow, thank you all so much for your kind words!

When you truly want something and go after it, it's only a matter of time until it comes to fruition!

Hey man, great Fing work! I just purchased the book on amazon for 5.99 with shipping (brand new). I don't know if I am going to do it yet, but I feel like its time for a change in my plan. I have a thread around here marking my weight loss (down ~80 lbs so far) but I need to go a little further and need the cut look. I am really amazed with your progress... can you explain BodyRX more before I get my copy? How hard is it to switch up to the unprocessed foods? I think that will be the most difficult for me to do. Somethings are just easier and quicker with some of the alternatives out there for us.

You've done well dude. Its all about drive and determination. Your story will be inspriational to others.

Im wanting a little more defenition in my shoulders i'll use your pics as inspiration. You look great dude. way to go.

Thanks for the compliments. Congrats on your hard work, you’ve come a long way as well! Keep up the great work!
The body RX plan is a 6 meal a day 6 cycle / 6 week workout plan (total 6 months). It’s identical to body for life if you’ve ever heard of that plan. You have to consume high protein, fiber, and appropriate amount of carbs. After each 6 week cycle, protein intake is increased as well as fiber and carbs are reduced. In addition higher reps and sets are added to the daily routine.
As far as switching to unprocessed foods, the book says to stay away from anything with High fructose corn syrup in it. It’s a processed sugar that your body doesn’t utilize well and usually goes immediately fat storage.Unfortunately that junk is in most foods if you take a look at labels. Cook your own food! Anything prepackaged in the freezer section is usually processed. Sure lean cruisines are better than fast food, but if you read the label on some they're not far behind fast food numbers. I eat 4 real meals and do 2 protein shakes. For sweets I only do fruits. Even if you don’t follow the entire bodyrx plan, you’ll get some great insight on nutrition & weight training from it. Good luck!

i just purchased the book this past weekend, because im at 150 and my body fat is horrible, and i feel weak. Anyways i started yesterday, and it definitely feels weird being so full, but hopefully i will see good results. As far as the workouts go, they seemed short yesterday but i woke up sore, so im obviously doing something right. I will get back to everyone in 6 weeks with pictures using this program, wish me luck and you truly are an inspiration

Congrats Trevor! You may gain a few pounds over the first few weeks while your body is adapting to additional meals however you'll find yourself getting stronger with the workout routine. The pounds will fly off during the 2nd - 6th cycle of the program.

Best of luck with it! Let me know if you need any tips.

Howie
