My first goal met

Howdy guys,

In case you haven't read some of my posts, I'm 5'9, 24 years old, and currently 162lbs.

Well i have met my first goal..which was to lose 10 lbs. I didn't think it was going to be so easy but to be honest it was. I cut out junk food, sodas etc. and counted my calories to stay in my target deficit. I have gone from 172 to 162 lbs.

With one goal met i need to set another. i eventually want to gain muscle weight. But i feel like i should lose some more weight first. i was thinking another 10lbs to bring me down to 152lbs.

Does this sound like a decent plan?

i guess I figured that if I got to 152 and then started gaining muscle when I was happy I would be at abut 165 lbs and still be at a normal BMI.

Anyone have any ideas how much muscle weight is good to start looking toned and defined?

thanks for any input.

If I were you, I'd strive for efficiency and begin exercising now to help you lose weight and increase healthy muscle. If you have dropped 10 lbs with just your diet, it stands to reason that you could work on both of your reamining goals at the same time. By eating at a calorie deficit and exercise, your body will "recomp" itself--meaning that fat will be burned and muscle will be added, sometimes with little or no movement on the scale.

Not that your plans won't work as you've set them, but I'm just telling you what I'd do cuz you asked!

Sorry for not clarifying.

To lose weight I have been running 3 times a week plus walking to and from work each day (15 minute walk, 1 hour total). I will be starting a full body work out routine soon.
