My face/body shots: Before and In Between

Updates!!!!

I've gone from a size 18 or 20 to a size 10 or 12 in ladies or 11 in juniors. I currently weigh 175 exactly. I've lost 46 pounds. My original goal was 120, but about 12 pounds ago I realized that's probably unreasonable. I then decided 130 or 135 might be best. Now I'm not even sure I want to go that low. We shall see. :)

Also, I hit my goal of being able to wear a size 10 by either 1/1/08 or by my birthday, which is a week later on 1/8. I have recently come to believe that if I put my mind to something and focus, I can do anything. It's pretty awesome.

Some of the after pictures are weird looking. I don't really have monkey arms. My boyfriend is a foot taller than me, so it's hard for him to get the angle right!

Mal,

Thank you! I'm getting there. I'm nowhere near done. I'm working on 50 more pounds of fat loss. :) As much as I can't wait to get to where I'm going, I'm really excited by the process or my progress.

Wow way to go,you look great!!So I eventually need to
upgrade to RUNNING if I want better faster results `I need
to lose about 30-35 more lbs and 10 weeks I can handle lol!
************CONGRATS************

Ah, you're so beautiful!

You should be so proud of all your progress. That's really amazing! :] I see such a great change, especially in your face, arms, and stomach!

Awesome job! <3 Please keep up the wondrous work!

YOU LOOK AMAZING. Congrats... 35 pounds in 10 weeks is outstanding.. how did you do it? and so quickly?

Tammy- Yeah, running has really helped me lose weight and gain confidence. I love the speed/distance progress I make each time I run. Thanks!

Jung Mi- Thank you for the kind words. I'm glad you can see changes in the same areas I can see them. I will not make self-deprecating remarks, but I can't believe how big my arms were. My ankles/calves have slimmed down too, it's just not so obvious because my before pictures don't really show that part of my body.

SkinnyQ-Thank you! I've done it by moving more and eating less. Also, please read the rest of this post, as I will give my trainer (Leigh Peele,as in one of WLF's very own Super Moderator) a plug. Also, I'm committed and I'm consistent.

Steve- Thank you, Steve! I can't wait until I'm down to a size 10. I'll post more pictures when I get there. I am currently in loose 14s.

SweatPea-Thank you!!!!

Okay, now for Leigh's plug. I was doing okay on my own for about six or seven weeks, and then I started to burn out because I was spending way, way too much time at the gym or running or swimming. I ended up asking for some advice on the board, and Leigh responded with free advice. We then started emailing, which is when she offered to take me on as a case client. I put that off for about two weeks for financial reasons, and continued to do my own thing. Anyway, I started with Leigh about the 1st of October. She had me send a lot of information to her, info. about my eating habits and weight loss/gain history. And she had me send her my stats and some pictures of me. Using that, she designed a 4 week caloric intake program and an exercise regimen specifically for me. She designed the exercise regimen to combat some of my weaker, problem areas. And she incorporated running/interval training into the program because she knew I wanted to continue to run. After 4 or 6 weeks, she'll change things up. My caloric intake is matched up with my daily activity level. What I'm doing requires A LOT of planning on my part. I do not consume a thing that isn't on my daily meal plan. I weigh all of my food instead of using measuring cups. My daily caloric intake is only ever off by seven calories at the most. I am also managing my macro nutrients (carbs, fats, proteins) per Leigh's recommendation. And I pay special attention to when I'm consuming larger amounts of food (post-workout, specifically). All of this sounds really complicated, but it's not. It's fun and challenging. And I spend 45 minutes or less at the gym four days a week and about 60-80 minutes working out one day a week. I always have two days off.

*** If you are counting calories religiously, my one piece of advice is to toss the measuring cups and get yourself a scale. I think I was consuming anywhere from 100-300 more calories a day than I thought because measuring cups are so off.

As much as I would like to take any credit this girl has serious dedication and the ability to push herself. That and the right education are what is key.

You keep it up girl!

Great!

You have made fantastic progress! I am so proud of everyone here, and want to say that I'm glad this place hasn't been used by everyone for the typical empowering bullshit I see everywhere else. What keeps me coming back is the stories of people who have faced what is killing them, overcome it daily, and are doing something about it, not just whining about how hard it is.

Way to go, and keep it up!

Big difference! Your dedication is obvious. No one could lose that much so fast and look so healthy without a lot of determination and follow through. I really truly admire that (esp. since that's one of the traits where I tend to be lacking). Looking forward to hearing about your continued progress :).

:) Girlfriend, you are lookin' FINE!!! Wow, such a major transformation! I don't know, but if you lose another 50, you may turn into a crack in the wall! I just can't get over it! And you are working soooooo hard; you totally deserve to see such magnificent changes. Keep it up!

cheers :eh:

Catie: Thanks! Gettin' there.

Fido: Thank you so much! You know, I was fighting, fighting, fighting to get up in the morning to work out and fighting the urge to binge, but now I'm not. I guess I finally got to my "rock bottom" regarding my weight. I was finally fed up with looking and feeling miserable.

Grace: Thank you!

Blancita: Thanks for the kind words. You know, I think I lost 20 pounds during the first month. Ever since then I've dropped down to losing anywhere from 1/2 pound - 4 pounds a week.

Janice: I don't want to get skinny, just thin and trim and fit and strong. Besides, I think a good portion of that 50-55 pounds is on my butt, which you can't really see in the pictures I've posted. A black friend of mine once refered to me as "a bit black in back." Ha!
