I'm 5'5'' and weight 158 right now. My goal is to get down to 140-145. I've always had bigger thighs, thanks to my mom.
Right now I am rotating between some Firm DVDs and Shape DVDs. I also walk on the treadmill or outside 2 times a week for 20 minutes or so.
I couldn't give you an exact number of calories I eat each day, my guess is around 1800-2000. I really haven't change my eating habits at all since before I got back into exercise. What irritates me is that during the spring, summer and fall I walk 2 or more miles a day, pushing a stroller. During this time, I seem to lose weight easily. However, I believe I am working out at a higher intensity now, but I gained 2-3 pounds and added a 1/2 inch to each of my thighs in the first week and now going on week 5, it's still there!
I'm wondering if I'm in some way making my body store fat by exercising so late and not eating afterwards. I've also wondered if my body retains more water than normal, or if it holds onto lactic acid?
