and i can't fit a single one!

as much as i love to shop, i cannot (and don't want to) go buy a whole new wardrobe.

it's funny, i never thought of myself as thin before, but now i look at my old figure and long for it.

That's so funny- same situation for me! I have one dress in particular that I adore, but it's a size 6, and I'm not! Looks like our goals are similar. Good luck to you :)

Yes, very similar! Thanks, Scorpiogal! Hope to be celebrating our size 6s in a couple months

I completely understand where both of you are coming from! I have a closet full of the cutest things. Tons of seven and citizen jeans. That are size 6! I tried a pair of my true relgion jeans on a few days ago. I could only get them up to my hips. I think I broke a sweat trying to get them over my thights. Haha!

Dont worry! We will get there. Some how....some way. I am determined to be able to fit into those clothes again.

well, i'm glad to know i'm not the only one motivate by fashion!

Spring is hear and summer is around the corner. I want to wear my shorts again!

lol no its not shallow at all. i look at slim girls and think that the fashions they can pull off is because clothing hangs better on them. i use that as a motivator to try get myself in those clothes!

I read this and checked did I post this because this is the exact same thing with me; I love to shop but cannot buy things because I look horrendus in things which I want to wear; I remember how good I felt before when I tried things on and now just look and feel terrible....

Just once again ditto to whatever you said; I too have the cutest branded jeans in my wardrobe; cute tops and dresses which I fit into once and never got into again because by the time this season came I am FAT....

And here I thought I was the only one looked at all the slim girls around and admired how they can pull off anything; even a sack with a nice belt and accessories would look good on them because they are slim...

I agree it is not shallow; what ever gets us moving right????? and who does not want to look and feel like a million bucks....

Yup, me too! Size 8s for me though. My dresser is packed with Size 8 jeans and those tops that are now just a bit too snug. But for some reason I hold onto them.
The sad part is that if, no WHEN, I lose the weight, I will be buying all new clothes for myself (or using my weight loss as a great excuse to go shopping), so why the heck do I hang onto these old clothes?

I felt the same, or similar. It might be a good time to clear out some baggage. But hold onto the good, quality classic pieces. When you reach your goal, you'll be glad. That way, your celebratory shopping can focus on fun stuff!

Thanks! Great advice. I will do that! In fact, I'll do that tonight. I think I'll hold onto my jeans and other classic pieces that I'll be super proud to fit back into. And then toss the other stuff. For some reason that little piece of advice was very motivating for me today :)

I keep stuff so I can try it on as I am losing weight to watch it fit better. Then pray that I lose enough that it is eventually too big and I have to buy more. :)

Exactly! I tried on a button up shirt today that was nowhere near closing a couple month ago. Now there's plenty of room in it (except the boobs) - feels awesome

Ditto!

I am going through all my skinny clothes - I can't believe I was so self-conscious and always complaining about being FAT when I was a size 8! I look at those clothes and can't believe my waist was ever that tiny, and just a few years ago!!

I am selling those clothes on ebay now, and a few to Plato's Closet, but that's not because I'm not going to be a size 8 again... It's simply because I want to be able to buy all new clothes down the line when I do get back to my size again!!

size 6 that is totototally my number *_*
lol i think its like the ideal size for me =]
it will be sooo nice when i can actually wear them.
haha the smallest size i have in my closet though is 9
baby steps =P we will get there soon^^

Ughh, Plato's Closet makes me so angry. I took like four bags of clothing there in January and they only accepted like maybe one bag worth of stuff. The majority of the items were practically brand new, maybe worn one, and some still with tags on it...and name brands like Hollister, American Eagle, Polo, Abercrombie, Express, Victoria's Secret, Charlotte Russe, Guess. They said some of the tank tops were "too short" or "not in fashion." Since when are solid tanks not in fashion? Oh well, some girl is having a field day in Goodwill right now because of it! :)

I would be having a field day!! I love Consignment shopping!!!! Sometimes you can find some pretty funky stuff.

I have this same problem...ALL of my clothes, I can't fit, and I used to be able to get away with wearing pretty much anything. I've got 4's,6's, I got rid of all my zero's and 2's a few years ago. ARGH! BUT really it does not matter, since all store sizings are different. That's part of why I LOVE LOVE LOVE Consignment. I just try on anything I like.

I didn't think there'd be any ladies on here with the same struggle. :blush5:

everytime i go to a consignment store and look, i never find anything that i like or that fits right...i'm really picky though.

i hate how at every store i wear a different size. i have 4's 6's and 8's from all sorts of stores...got rid of my size 2's since i'll probably never be that small again and size 10's since i never wanna be that big again. most of the stuff i gave away still fit and has been from the past couple years...i just didn't like it anymore or just knew i'd never wear it again and it was taking up room in my closet. i have a shopping problem!! ha

I almost killed the little b**** at Plato's Closet! I brought a giant bag to them filled with all the brand names they asked for: American Eagle, Aeropostale, Express, etc... They only took two items. A pair of lei jeans that still had the tags, and a black blouse from express that still had the tags. I got $7.75 for it.

:puke:

I'm kicking myself for dropping off 5 bags of my old cute clothes to a thrift store a couple years ago, since I have no discovered people will buy just about anything on ebay... Like all the cool clothes that weren't good enough for Plato's Closet!!! :ack2:

I know!! I don't use eBay (although I should've to sold those clothes). Plato's also told me that a couple of the pieces I tried to give them weren't eligible because they had stains or holes in them...I had worn them ONCE, washed them, and then they sat in my closet. I am almost certain there was nothing wrong with them. Oh well.

I used to give all the stuff I didn't want to a family friends daughter. She was maybe five years younger than me and was always so excited when my Mom dropped off clothes for her. That family moved away though...and I doubt she'd be as excited now that she's like 19 to get 'hand me downs' from me, haha.
