Normally when I go to the gym I lift until fail on each machine or equiptment only once but I tried something a little different.
I went to the gym 3 days ago. First I lifted dumbbells until fail. After that I did situps untill fail. Next I worked on my chest ( I used the type of machine where you sit down and its worked by pulleys, I didn't do a bench press or anything like that) until fail. After that I worked the muscles that are on the front part of your shoulders (on a machine similar to the chest one) untill fail. I started to take quick rests after this and repeating all the exercises until fail once more. I was going to do it a third time but it was going to get dark and my vehicle's headlights don't work so I left.
The next day I felt sore on all of the muscles I worked but I felt really sore on my stomach. Now, 3 days later my chest muscles are't sore at all, and my bicep and shoulders muscles are barely sore. My stomach muscles are less sore than before but whenever I just cough or try to sit up I can always feel a sore ache even right now.
Normally I thought sorness was a good thing but I googled it and found many people said something about muscle soreness being bad and others saying it was good. I just wanted to be clear if soreness is bad or good? Should I try to push my self even harder and make my body feel more sore or should I tone it down a bit on everything or just the abs? I'm just wondering what I should be doing. I haven't gone to the gym since because I wanted to wait for the soreness to go away becasue I think that means my muscles are repairing themselves but I could be wrong. Any suggestions?
