muscle/joint aches on week 7 of exercise?

hello everyone,
i'm now on week 7 of my exercise programme. i go to the gym about 4 times a week (sometimes 5). i currently do 90mins cardio and some weights. My cardio consists of two 45min sessions of a mix and match of either treadmill and various aerobics classes , or when there's no class at the time i'll just do two sessions of treadmill instead.

my question is this, at the end of everyday i've been to the gym, i experience alot of discomfort due to muscle/joint soreness or aches (i wouldn't classify it as pain)...but after going to bed i'll be fine the next morning when i wake up.

my question is this, does this happen to everyone? or is it just me? because i thought after 7 weeks of exercise my body should be used to the exercise regime.

Yeah, it happened to me when I used to run and do HIIT every other day. I would need to put ice on my knees. Since I added more rest days, the pain has completely gone away. I dunno, that's just my two cents

everyone's body is different, so it's hard to say.

i don't normally feel sore right after the gym, but the next morning when i wake up, i'm a bit sore on whichever muscle group i worked the day before. never really in pain, but just sore. then by the time the following day rolls around, i'm not sure anymore.

if i'm not just a little bit sore at least, i feel like i haven't worked hard enough. i'm not sure if that's the right mentality, but i go with it.

i've been working out (running/lifting) 5-6 times a week normally for 3 years straight...so i'd say it's normal to be sore.

thanks megookman, at least now i know i'm not alone in this. in fact just this week for the first time i've decided to break up my workout so that i work out mon, tue, break on wed, then workout thu, fri, sat and break on sunday. Before i'd cram it all in the week and have two rest days in the weekend but i think having a break in between would help me for now. i actually have been taking step aerobics two days in a row but have decided to reduce that class to once a week because it's a killer on my knees!

thanks shep. it really helps to know i'm not going crazy afterall...lol! it's weird now because if ever there's a day i come home and i'm not sore i usually know i haven't given my 100%. but on the other hand i kept thinking my body would get used to it all at some point....guess it never quite does.
