Motivation needed

Hi guyz,

I'f been on this website for over 2 years. I'f seen allot of picture's and read allot of succes story. I'm 18 years old and overweight (duh), I have been all my life and its now at a point where its interfering with my life. Evry time when I want to do something about it I get all motivated I tell my self I'l do this Il do that, but as soon as the next day come's its all gone its like where the hell did that motivation go. I really want to do something about it I really want to start living a healtier and happy live. But weird enough I never make it past a week, its like at the end why bother its not like it will change something.

This is the first time I'f decided to post a thread and maby make a diary. I know its not a easy thing to do to change but I really want to do it I want to enjoy my life to the max and not letting my weight interfere with my life. Its not like some else is going to do its for me.

Welcome back. You CAN do this, really you can. I know it is hard, but if you really want it, you can do it. One advantage you have on your side is your youth. I am 48 yrs old and let me tell you, it is harder to loose as you get older. (in my personal experience) I am just 3 weeks into my new lifestyle change and I won't lie, it is hard, I cant say it isn't but you can do it. Don't give up before you even get started. Make a promise to yourself today to cut out junk/fast food, softdrinks and unhealthy snacks from your diet to start. It might help for you to write down of the food you eat each day so you can see where you are adding unwanted calories without realizing it. It may feel overwhelming, but you can take it slowly and make subtle changes at first like grabbing an apple or bananna instead of a candy bar or bag of chips. If you are living at home, tell your family you need their support and that you want to eat healthier. Take part in the grocery shopping (if you dont already)so you can stock up on some heathy food choices like fresh fruit & veggies, raw nuts (almonds are SO good), lean meats and low fat dairy like cheeses, and greek yogurt. (more protien in the greek yogurts than the other brands) Read those labels and choose foods with less fat and sugars/carbs and with more protien than fat. I am always reading lables when I shop but it actually is very eye opening.
There is SO MUCH info and support here, I spend hours reading and learning. I think you already know that, and that is why you are back :) I am proud of you.

I hope my reply has not come off as a "know it all" because I don't....I certainly have alot to learn myself. You can do this, WE can do this. One day at a time. Please dont give up. Developing a healthier lifestyle early in life with be with you a lifetime and you will be so glad you did. Don't wait until you are 48 like me. I spent far too many years being overweight, feeling uncomfortable in my own skin. I could kick myself for not making healthier changes when I was younger. YOU CAN DO iT!!!!!!.

You can do this! We're all in the same boat here, that's why I love this forum.

Just take it one day at a time, and before you know it you'll be on your way!
